A Novel Formulation Of Natural Pescticide

Abstract: The harmful adverse effects of inorganic pesticides have led to the emergence of Bio - pesticides. The term itself implies that bio pesticides are derived naturally. There are many plant derived pesticides, but many of them lack. efficiency. Azadirachtin, the active component of Neem oil is often used as pest repellant. The essential oil derived from black pepper corns is also often used as bio pesticide. The present invention relates to the use of a unique formulation including Azadirachtin with enriched content and black pepper oil.

Specification

1. FIELD OF INVENTION A NOVEL FORMULATION OF NATURAL PESCTICIDE
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The yield and quality of a crop is greatly affected by the attack of pests. The attack o pests on crops will greatly influence the crop yield. The use of insecticides and pesticides can repel the pests to a greater extent. But the longtime use of inorganic pesticides will lead to many serious ailments. It can even lead to carcinogenic diseases. The restrictive use of synthetic pesticides has led to the emergence of naturally derived ones. Azadirachtin, the active component of neem oil is often used as a bio-pesticide. The percentage of Azadirachtin is very low in neem oil; hence it needs to be enriched for better efficiency. The volatile oil of black pepper corns contains many active compounds which has got promising pest repellant action. The present invention relates to the use of a unique formulation including black pepper oil and purified Azadirachtin. Our novel process involves the purification of Azadirachtin from neem seed oil.

2. SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
Azadirachtin, a chemical compound belonging to the limonoid group, is a secondary metabolite present in neem seeds. Azadirachtin has a complex molecular structure; it presents both secondary and tertiary hydroxyl groups and a tetra hydro furan ether in its molecular structure, alongside 16 stereogenic centres, 7 of which are tetra substitute. It is a highly oxidized tetranortriterpenoid which boasts a plethora of oxygen bearing functional groups, including an enol ether, acetal, hemiacetal, tetra-substituted epoxide and an variety of carboxylic esters. The content of Azadirachtin in neem oil is in parts per million only. Our invention relates the enrichment of Azadirachtin from neem oil. So the efficiency of the product will be high. The essential oil of black pepper corns poses many active and efficient compounds. The active compounds of black pepper oil include caryophyllene, d-limonene, alpha pinene, Beta phellandrene, Beta pinene, 3 carene, terpinen-4-ol, delta elemene, copaene, beta bisabolene, caryophyllene oxide etc. Out of the above said beta caryophyllene and alpha pinene accounts higher percentage. Terpenes and terpenoids are the most representative molecules constituting 90% of the essential oils and allow a great variety of structures with diverse functions. Alpha pinene and beta caryophyllene pose the potential ability to repel the pests. Our present invention relates the use of essential oil from black pepper and Azadirachtin enriched neem oil.

3. DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
Our novel enrichment process of Azadirachtin helps to recover the compound from neem oil. The use of enriched fractions helps to increase the efficiency of the product. The steam distillation of volatile fractions yields black pepper oil with required active components. The dominant active components of the product are Azadirachtin and caryophyllene. The structures of which are depicted below:
Ingredients used
Neem oil Black Pepper oil
