DESCRIPTION
Technical field of invention:
[001] Present invention in general relates to the field of agriculture and more particularly to a cow dung slurry filtration apparatus used in the preparation of organic liquid manures.
Background of the invention:
[002] Cow dung slurry or jeevamrut/ amrutjal are important liquid manures applied in farming especially in organic farming and natural farming. It requires preparation of these mixtures by putting ingredients such as cow dung, cow urine, soil, cereal floor, jaggery, etc. in different combination in water as per the need. The prepared slurry is required to be filtered so that it can be sprayed on the crops and can also be supplied to the soil through drip irrigation. The slurry usually has floating particles of cow dung, soil etc. Fine filtered slurry is required so as to prevent the clogging of holes of the spray pump and the drip lines. The contents of the ingredients are required to be mixed twice a day with bamboo stick. Also it is required that no movement of the solution should happen at least for eight hours before the usage so that the floating particles settle down at the bottom of the tank. Although various attempts are made before, for providing various means for the filtration of slurry and few of them are discussed below.
[003] US7674386B2 discloses slurry filtration system and apparatus. A slurry filtration system and apparatus with peripheral elements for conditioning a slurry prior to entry into a pressure filter and the control of fluid and liquid introductions into the filter to produce a desired filter cake or filtrate. The system includes a controller for controlling the operation of the peripheral treatment for the introduction of coagulants, flocculants and polymers to treat or condition a slurry introduced into the filter and the control of additional peripheral equipment for treatment of the slurry with liquid clearing or cake forming gas, steam, or drying or conditioning gas within the filter chamber for the production of both filtrate and filter cake from the filter to a form desired.
[004] WO2006031406A1 discloses high-efficiency slurry filtration apparatus and method. A slurry separation system, apparatus, method and process to separate solids and liquids from a slurry which results in optimal drying of the solids with lowest energy use; and/or use of a minimum amount of apparatus; and/or use of a minimum amount of space for the apparatus; and/or least amount of time necessary to accomplish the separation; and/or minimizing the amount of treatment or washing fluids required to achieve the desired separation; and/or minimizing waste of process streams.
[005] US7975850B2 discloses apparatus and method for separating sand from manure slurry. A separation apparatus (A) separates particulates such as sand from slurry of water/sand/manure. Particularly, passage receives the slurry and injectors assist the slurry over ramp and aid in separating the sand and organic material from the slurry. The sand proceeds through a discharge and preferably a counter flow of sanitizer from sterilizing passage proceeds through the sand. Cleaned and sanitized sand is temporarily stored in a collector.
[006] CA2877582A1 discloses high-efficiency dynamic slurry-liquid-separating filtration apparatus and filtration method there for. The filtration apparatus comprises a filter cylinder body, a filter pipe and a filter core on the filter pipe arranged within the filter cylinder body, a material inlet on the filter cylinder body, a solid residue outlet provided at the bottom part of the filter cylinder body, and a filtrate outlet provided at the mid-bottom part of the filter cylinder body, where the filter core is multiple filter plates connected with the filter pipe, where the filter plates are perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the filter cylinder body, and where the upper end of the filter pipe is connected to a rotary shaft of an inverter motor. The filtration method comprises: preheating the filtration apparatus; after filtering for a period of time, adjusting the rotational speed of the inverter motor, thus removing a thin layer of filter residue cake on the filter plates.
[007] US5741419A discloses filter press for filtering liquid slurries. An apparatus for filtering liquid slurry is described. The apparatus uses a pair of filter chambers formed by a pair of fixed plates, and a pair of opposed moveable plates. The moveable plates are moved into engagement with the fixed plates by the downward movement of a wedge member disposed between the plates and, the plates are bias so that when the wedge member is withdrawn, the plates will be drawn together opening the filter chambers. The chambers are sealed by opposed actuate gaskets so that the sealing action is achieved by internal pressure rather than the pressure driving the plates together. A filter media is provided on a continuous roll which extends between the gaskets and is intended to carry the filter cake out of the chamber when the plates are separated whereupon the cake will be dropped from the filter media into a collection area so that the filter media can be reused.
[008] The above mentioned apparatus suffer various drawbacks therefore to avoid the drawbacks of the existing methods and apparatus there is need to develop a cost effective and efficient apparatus for the filtration of organic slurry. Hence the present invention provides a cow dung slurry filtration apparatus.

Detailed description of the invention:
[0017] The present invention relates to a cow dung slurry filtration apparatus. The proposed filter is suitable for any type of organic preparations required to be sprayed through spray pump or to be given in soil through drip irrigation.
[0018] As shown in figure 1 it comprises of a 200 liters tank and a strainer bucket with a fine mesh nylon bag with capacity of 25Kg. Water is filled in the tank and the ingredients are filled in the bag that is kept in the strainer. The mixture is allowed to be processed organically for specific period (two days to seven days). The filtered slurry is available at the tap at the bottom that can be directly used through drip irrigation system.
[0019] The tank used has a capacity of 200 liters that is sufficient for 1 acre of farm for one time treatment. On the top at the center there is a strainer bucket with a lid. In the strainer a nylon bag (100 to 120 microns) is used in which the jivamrut material is loaded which is about 25 kg. 200 Liters of water is filled in the tank form top side. The lid is closed and it is kept for four to seven days and the micro organic reaction takes place. If required the nylon bag can be shaken /rotated for complete mixing of the contents (optional). For the usage the tap available at the bottom is used here user get filtered jivamrut that can be directly applied through drip irrigation without any problem of jamming of drip pipes and drip filter. At the end the nylon bag can be taken out that contains almost dried solid waste that can be used as a solid fertilizer in farms.
[0020] The ingredients are required to be added in the bag inside the bucket and the bucket can be rotated or pulled and pushed as per the requirement usually twice a day. Almost similar results are expected even if this action is not done. After two to four days the slurry is ready for use no settling time is required. For the best performance of the filter the ingredients are to be thoroughly mixed before applying in to the bag with strainer so that the process can be accelerated and no lumps of ingredients are formed.
[0021] The proposed filter is easy for operation, maintenance and cleaning. The liquid manure is available at the tap and clogging of drip pipes and nozzles of the spray pumps is avoided. The filtrate can be used as dry manure.
[0022] Additional advantages and modification will readily occur to those skilled in art. Therefore, the invention in its broader aspect is not limited to specific details and representative embodiments shown and described herein. Accordingly various modifications may be made without departing from the spirit or scope of the general invention concept as defined by the appended claims and their equivalents.
