“Folic Acid Encapsulated Ethosomal Formulation And Method For Preparation Thereof”

Abstract
A folic acid encapsulated ethosomal formulation, comprising, i) soy lecithin in the range of 2%; ii) solvent in the range of 30%; iii) folic acid in the range of 5-10 mg ; iv) cholesterol in the range of 0.02%; and v) distilled water According to another embodiment of the present invention, the method to prepare the formulation comprises the following steps, i) weighing said soy lecithin in a small round flask, followed by solubilizing with constant stirring to obtain a solution; ii) introducing said folic acid and cholesterol to said solution, followed by addition of distilled water with continuous stirring to obtain an ethosomal colloidal suspension; iii) agitating the ethosomal suspension in a sonicator for 25-35 min to obtain folic acid dispersion; and iv) maintaining the dispersion at room temperature to obtain the formulation.
