This invention relates a prepared fortified sugar and a process for the fortification of granular sugar by coating sugar with premix without affecting the appearance of the sugar and improving better shelf life of the sugar. The process involves coating of sugar passing through a screw conveyor and using a dosing machine. The coating occurs in two stages, first stage coating occurs in a premixing screw mixer and a second stage coating occurring in a ribbon mixer of the dosing machine.
