PREAMBLE TO THE DESCRIPTION
The following specification particularly describes the invention and the manner in which it is to be performed.
FIELD OF THE INVENTION
This invention relates to a secure picatinny cover. In particular, this invention relates to a picatinny cover for rifles with an integrated and removable mechanical sight with multiple ranges to match the caliber of the rifle.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
Picatinny cover is designed for small arms weapons and rifles to mount a tactical optical accessory to increase user precision. Most of these accessories require a power source to work. If the source of power dies or the accessory mounted gets damaged, the firearm operator will be in major trouble.
US Patent Application No. US10598464B2, discloses a cover for a receiver of a gun comprising an elongated member having a first longitudinal axis, the elongated member comprising a distal end portion which comprises a leading edge which is configured and dimensioned to connect with a gun part; and a proximal end portion which is spaced from the distal end portion along the first longitudinal axis, and which comprises a proximal end wall, a proximal rim adjacent the proximal end wall, a first locking mechanism adjacent the proximal end wall which comprises an anchor, and a positioning member connected to the anchor such that movement of the positioning member moves the anchor with respect to the proximal rim, and
a blocking member operatively associated with the positioning member the first locking mechanism comprising first and second operable configurations such that in the first configuration the blocking member arrests movement of the positioning member and in the second configuration the blocking member allows movement of the positioning member, and an accessory mounting interface disposed between the distal end portion and the proximal end portion.
There are disadvantages associated with the product known in the prior art. One of the disadvantages is that the known product does not have a rear mechanical sight.
Another disadvantage associated with the known product is that the optical accessories interfere with the iron sight and disturb the effective aiming.
Yet another disadvantage associated with the known product is that they are costly.
A further disadvantage associated with the known product is that it is not compatible with all types of Rifles.
OBJECTS OF THE INVENTION
Therefore, an object of the present invention is to provide a secure picatinny cover and obviates the disadvantages associated with the known product.
Another object of the present invention is to provide an integrated removable mechanical backup sight on the accessory rail which can be used if the mounted accessory fails or the power source is killed.
Still another object of the present invention is to provide multiple range settings in the integrated mechanical sight to match the caliber of the Rifle.
A further object of the present invention is to provide a retention mechanism that does not interfere with any moving part of the rifle and holds on to the spring catch without pressing the rifle frame.
Another object of the present invention is to provide a front secure lock of cover which does not interfere with the Rifle.
Yet another object of the present invention is to provide a toolless assembly of the secure accessory rail.
Still another object of the present invention is to provide a secure accessory rail that fits without any permanent change in the original weapon and can be reversed if required.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
According to this invention, there is provided a secure picatinny cover comprising a protective cover having toothed mount rail provided therewith integrally and secured with rear-upper end of a firearm such that to hold an accessory adjustably therewith, a connecting means being provided at front end of the protective cover to facilitate securing of the protective cover with the firearm, a vertical channel being provided at rear end of the protective cover to accommodate a sliding frame therein provided to hold the lever of the firearm therewith, a hole being provided at end of the protective cover to allow passage of front end of the lever through the sliding frame, adjusting knob being provided over the channel such that to adjust the position of the protective cover manually and to lock the position, a mechanical sight secured at the upper-rear surface of protective cover such that to aim the target as and when digital sight fail to aim the target.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWING
A secure picatinny cover, according to a preferred embodiment of the present invention, is herein described and illustrated in the accompanying drawings, wherein:
Figure 1 (a, b), illustrates a perspective view of a secure picatinny cover, and
Figure 1, illustrates an exploded view of a secure picatinny cover.
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
