DESC:CROSS REFERENCE TO RELATED APPLICATION
[001] This Application is based on and derives the benefit of Indian Provisional Application 202321054050 filed on 11th August 2023, the contents of which are incorporated herein by reference.
TECHNICAL FIELD
[002] The embodiments herein generally relate to a vehicle hood. More particularly, the embodiments herein relate a handling portion provided on an inner panel of the vehicle hood for easily holding and moving the vehicle hood from a closed position to an open position.
BACKGROUND
[003] Generally, a hood is used for covering an engine compartment or a frunk of a vehicle. Typically, the hood (bonnet) is locked through a hood latch and the hood latch can be unlocked by a hood latch release lever which is positioned in vicinity of user’s seat (driver’s seat). The hood latch release lever is connected to the hood latch through linkages. To unlock the vehicle hood, the user (driver) moves the hood latch release lever and the driver comes in front of the vehicle. Then the user moves an external hood latch release lever by accessing it through a central opening which is located below the front end of the hood. This results in unlocking the hood and the user can move the hood from a closed position to an open position.
[004] However, in some vehicles, a front spoiler is placed in front of the vehicle hood. The presence of the front spoiler prevents the access underneath the vehicle hood from a front portion or front edge of the vehicle hood. Therefore, the front edge of the vehicle hood is not accessible to a user even in a popup condition of the vehicle hood.
[005] Therefore, there exists a need for a handling portion for a vehicle hood which obviates the aforementioned drawbacks.
OBJECTS
[006] The principal object of embodiments herein is to provide a handling portion for a vehicle hood which allows a user to easily access the vehicle hood and move the vehicle hood from a closed position to an open position.
[007] Another object of embodiments herein is to provide a simple and inexpensive way of moving the vehicle hood from the closed position to the open position.
[008] Another object of embodiments herein is to integrate the handling portion in the vehicle hood for holding and moving the vehicle hood from the closed position to the open position even in presence of a front spoiler positioned in front of the vehicle hood.
[009] These and other objects of embodiments herein will be better appreciated and understood when considered in conjunction with following description and accompanying drawings. It should be understood, however, that the following descriptions, while indicating embodiments and numerous specific details thereof, are given by way of illustration and not of limitation. Many changes and modifications may be made within the scope of the embodiments herein without departing from the spirit thereof, and the embodiments herein include all such modifications.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DRAWINGS
[0010] The embodiments are illustrated in the accompanying drawings, throughout which like reference letters indicate corresponding parts in various figures. The embodiments herein will be better understood from the following description with reference to the drawings, in which:
[0011] Fig. 1 depicts a perspective view of a portion of a vehicle with a vehicle hood showing handling portions when the vehicle hood is in an open position, according to embodiments as disclosed herein;
