Abstract: The present disclosure discloses a microfluidic cartridge for smearing biological fluid. The cartridge includes a base plate defining a flow surface and a coverslip positioned above the base plate. The coverslip defines a chamber on the flow surface for receiving the biological fluid. Further, the coverslip is configured to conceal at least a portion of the chamber, where the chamber is defined with a width. The cartridge includes an inlet section defined at one end of the chamber for introducing the biological fluid. Also, an outlet section is defined at another end opposite to the one end of the chamber. The outlet section is extending from the another end of the chamber to a length ranging from 0% to 200% of the width of the chamber. This way, uniform distribution of the biological fluid in the microfluidic cartridge may be attained without forming empty regions in the chamber. Figure 1a.
