An Extended Valve For Use With Inner Tubes Of Vehicle

Abstract: This invention relates to a special tyre extension valve for trucks and buses, especially for the rear tyre twin fitment system to reduce the difficulties for accessing the inner tyre inflation. When the extension valve is fitted to the existing brass valve, it provides the space to check and to correct the pressure of the inner rear tires periodically without any difficulties which in turn reduces the premature tyre failure.

FIELD OF THE INVENTION

This invention relates to a novel tyre extension valve for trucks and buses, preferably for the tyre valve with twin fitment system to reduce the difficulties for accessing the inner tyre inflation.

BACK GROUND OF THE INVENTION;

The pressure of the truck/bus tires need to be checked at regular intervals for the safety purpose and also to increase the tires life & better fuel efficiency. While checking the tyre pressure, the pressure gauge is pressed against brass valve of the tyre /tube to check the pressure. It is easy to check the pressure of the front axle tires and the outer on the rear axle's .but when it comes to inner tyre of the rear axles; it is quite difficult for measuring the inflation pressure. This problem leads to improper measurement of inflation pressure. This in turn increases in the premature type failure due to loss of pressure. Thus loss of pressure leads to lower expectancy of tread mileage and higher consumption of fuel leading to higher emissions. This problem can be over come by present invention.

Till 2004 vehicles where manufactured using 7.0 rims, which will be having big hand holes about 4 in numbers. These big hand holes were helping the filters /customers to check the tyre inflation properly but after 2005, vehicles like 6x2 trucks started to come with 7.5"rims and also hand hole are reduced, tyre filters /customers were finding it very difficult to check the tyre pressure, especially the inner tyre, due to which some tools are required to see the inflation pressure.

OBJECT OF THE INVENTION

To fulfill the above drawbacks various type of extension valves are available in the market. But there is a common problem faced by the tyre fitter or the driver, which is the damaging of these extension valve while mounting or demounting of the tyre and also fixing/removing of the extension valve is not easy. The present invention handles the above drawbacks; damaging of the valve is unavoidable. This invention is made up of durable, plastic material and also it is provided with hexagonal body to enable the easy fitment. Valve extender will be supplied with dust cap to prevent dust entering the valve. This extension valve is invented for the easy accessing of valves, which result is maintaining correct inflation & customer
will get a better performance.

PRIOR ART

Few prior art is detailed below:

In CN101249783 (A) the invention relates to a novel device of tire inflating valve extension for extending the tire inflating valve and charging various vehicles. The device comprises a lengthened valve core component (1), an inflating valve extending pipe (2) and a seal element (3). The lengthened valve core component (1) includes a valve core (1.1) and a valve core extending rod (1.2), wherein the valve core extending rod (1.2) is connected with the rear part of the valve core (1.1). The inflating valve extending pipe (2) is a hollow pipe, one end of which is provided with internal screw threads and the other end of which is provided with internal and external threads. The lengthened valve core component (1) is arranged inside the inflating valve extending pipe (2), and the valve core (1.1) of the lengthened valve core component (1) is arranged the internal and external thread ends inside the inflating valve extending pipe (2), and the valve core extending rod (1.2) rear end is arranged in the vicinity of the internal thread end inside the inflating valve extending pipe (2). The seal element (3) is embedded between the rear end of the valve core extending rod (1.2) and the inner wall of the inflating valve extending pipe (2). The device can achieve a remote inflation of the tires which are inconvenient for direct inflation. This device is not user friendly due to its non compact size. In GB2213561 (A) a rigid valve extension is screwed onto a pneumatic tyre valve with a seal interposed there between. The valve has a valve insert provided with a ventilation valve needle. The cylindrical casing body of the extension incorporates an axially movable needle-shaped ventilation member which butts onto the valve needle. Member may be flexible if casing is curved. A sealing valve insert in the head portion head of the casing includes a valve needle connected to or abutting needle. The existing valve can therefore be operated by operation of the valve insert acting through the ventilation needle.

The invention described in this article is a special valve in plastic material for the inner tubes of car or bicycle tyres in which the body of the valve, traditionally made of nickel plated copper or some other metal, preferably Siamese is replaced by a synthetic plastic resin, such as the polyoxy-methylene -based resins. The valve consists of a small plastic tube with a screw thread on the outside; it has a flange at one end, and at the other end an extension of lesser diameter, threaded at a more acute angle than the thread on the main part. This extension is intended to be closed by a lock-nut and cap-nut to keep the dust out. The valve is connected by a washer and a nut and lock-nut which lighten the valve against the wall of the inner tube.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PRESENT INVENTION:

This tyre extension valve is made up a durable, plastic material and also it is provided with hexagonal second cylindrical portion (9) to enable easy fitment. The main body id portioned as four portions, an internally threaded cylindrical bottom portion (6), is a first cylindrical central portion (8), a hexagonal second cylindrical portion (9), and externally threaded cylindrical top portion (7). The first cylindrical portion (8) and the top threaded portion (7) will have a smaller diameter than the other two portions. The bottom portion shall have internal thread therewith in which can be fastened to an existing tire valve (not shown). The top threaded portion shall have external thread onto which a removable top cap (1) is removable disposed. And within the main body atleast a plunger, spring, retainer bush are arranged functionally and co-operatively moveable there within and such that the extended valve is operable from outside.

The invention relating to the valve extension is intended to butt against valve member of the valve.

Thereby the valve extension is atleast substantially tubular and can be arranged therewith the valve, whereby the valve member can be operated from outside.

The valve extension is a long rigid extension with a rigid body which is preferably and essentially tubular in construction. It can be described to have four portions. The Cylindrical bottom portion (6) has internal threads for screwing the extension valve onto a tyre valve which is provided with a corresponding outer thread. Another cylindrical portion (8) with less diameter than portion (6). One more cylindrical portion (9) with an outer hexagon and thereafter the top cylindrical portion (7) has external threads to receive the dust cap.

Further the figures 1-3 illustrates the various components of the extension valve. By the very nature of the material of the extension valve, the plastic provides a certain degree of rigidity, flexibility and smoothness which helps considerably to achieve a good life span of the extension valve.

For the reasons which is due to material and simplicity the valve extension as described herein is economical as it costs less to manufacture thereby offering inherently an economic benefit along with a desired industrial application.

These invention can be suitable for any motor vehicle tyres and is not restricted by embodiments and disclosure made herein. The mode of manufacture is simple & cheap. The mode of operation is also simple.

From the disclosure here there can be many modifications and variations created by the skilled persons all of which are encompassed in this application.

WE CLAIM:

1. An extended valve for use with inner tubes comprising :

a main tubular body partitioned longitudinally into four portions, an internally threaded cylindrical bottom portion(6), a first cylindrical central portion (8), a Hexagonal second cylindrical central portion (9) and an externally threaded top cylindrical portion (7), the first central cylindrical portion (8) and the top threaded portion (7) having a lesser diameter than the other two portions, the said bottom portion having internal thread (6) therewith in which can be fastened to an existing tire valve, the said top threaded portion (7) having external thread onto which a removable top cover (1) is removably disposed, an extended valve means comprising of atleast a plunger (2), spring (3) and a retainer bush (4) arranged functionally cooperatively mutually within the main body (5) and axially moveable therewith in and such that the extended valve is operable from outside, thereby enabling the existing tire valve be operable by operation of the extended valve.

2. The extension valve as claimed in claim 1 is characterized with extension valve made of metallic/ plastic material.

3. The extension valve as claimed in claim 1 as substantially described and as illustrated in the accompanying drawings.
