DESC:FIELD OF THE INVENTION
The present invention in general relates to Edison screw lamp bases and fittings. More specifically the invention relates to E26 metal lamp holder made in Mono-Block.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The Edison screw fitting is a system of screw mounts used for light bulbs developed by Thomas Edison in 1909. In the early days of electrification, even non-lighting appliances (such as for toasters) sometimes connected to power via a light socket fitting. Today Edison screw lamp bases and fittings are made to dimensions prescribed by international standards and are used for general and specialty lamps. The bulb has a threaded metal base which screws into a matching socket. E26 is the size of most light bulbs used in the U.S. It's referred to as having a “medium” or “standard” base. E26 is the size of most light bulbs used in the U.S. It’s referred to as having a “medium” or “standard” base.
Generally the conventional E26 lamp holders are made by assembling the three parts design shown in Figure 3amade of either in metallic or non-metallic materials. The three parts are a base made of thermosetting material preferably Bakelite having the conducting filament, a cylindrical metal body preferably aluminum to be fasten above the base, and a cylindrical paper lining to cover the metal body which acts as an insulator. The conducting filament is wired from the sides of the base through screw. In these conventional E26 lamp holders the inner part of thermosetting base holding the current carrying contacts is placed in a dome after wiring. Thereafter the Shell, the part holding the lamp/bulb is screwed on the dome till it rests on the dome. After screwing the Shell it is locked to prevent rotation in anti-clockwise direction while removing or replacing the bulb. This method of assembly/disassembly of the lamp holder is time consuming exercise and hence not cost-effective.
Furthermore in general conventional Lamp Holder made of metal and thermosetting material required a paper insulating sleeve for the safety. This assembly of the lamp holder has a greater chance of electrical failure. Usual lamp holder tends to be fragile, usually being made of inexpensive plastic molding having spring contacts therein. During the removal or insertion of the lamps from the Holders the holders are easily damaged necessitating the replacement of both the lamp and the lamp holder. The three part assembly using Bakelite is not eco-friendly. Also maintenance costs for replacement of a lamp may therefore be unexpectedly high.
In addition, it is also difficult to install lamps in modular ceiling fixtures since, in order to insure proper alignment of the lamp pins, it is necessary to be able to see both ends of the lamp at the same time. This is difficult due to the length of the lamp. It is therefore necessary to insert the lamps by "feel" and this also leads to damage to the lamp holders.
Efforts have been made to develop lamp holders, but such developments have not been completely successful. For example, in U.S. Patent No. 4,495,443, an adaptor is described having a screw plug in which the starter housing of the fluorescent lamp is seated therein so that the distance between the tip of the fluorescent lamp and the opposite end of the screw plug is substantially reduced. However, with the particular structure described, the ballast required by the fluorescent lamp was provided in an exterior housing which extended parallel to the light bulb and this made the entire lamp assembly very cumbersome to screw into existing incandescent sockets and, moreover, made the mounting of decorative covers difficult and, in some situations, impossible without significant modifications to the light fixture. Additionally, the adaptor was unsightly and was not acceptable for use in installations where it would be seen.
US Patent No. 4,879,491A, describes a bulb holder including a looped band portion which grips the hermetic seal portion of the bulb unit having leading ends of the lead lines projected outward from the bulb holder, the bulb holder having foot portions each being formed with at least one opening; a core structure of molded plastics including a circular plate portion and a plurality of supporting pins which extend from the circular plate portion, the supporting pins being inserted into the openings of the foot portions of the bulb holder and welded to the foot portions to achieve a tight connection between the core structure and the bulb holder, the circular plate portion being formed with two slits; a base structure of molded plastics having a hollowed entrance into which the core structure is snugly received, the base structure including two conducting plate members which are inserted through and projected from the slits of the circular plate portion to be welded with the lead lines; and guide means for guiding the leading ends of the lead lines to given portions of the conducting plate members upon coupling of the core structure and the bulb holder.
In US 5,550,422A, describes a modified base construction is now provided for a high intensity arc discharge lamp which enables a single piece screw type conductive base member to be directly secured to the outer lamp envelope by means of a conductive clip physically attached to the outer lamp envelope. Suitable clip means for this purpose employs a general physical configuration, such as a U-shaped member, enabling direct physical attachment to the customary threaded base end of the outer lamp envelope while further including at least one outwardly projecting tang element to physically engage the conductive base member when joined thereto, Subsequent assembly of a customary screw type base shell to the outer lamp envelope permanently anchors the base shell in place due to frictional forces occasioned between the tang element of the clip member and inner surface of the hollow base shell. Fabrication of the clip member with conventional conductive metals, such as copper, brass or iron alloys, is preferred to withstand elevated operating temperatures at the base end of the outer lamp envelope which can exceed 200° C. or more.
US 5,029,057A application describes a lamp base having a clipped together support structure is disclosed. Assembly and orientation of lamps is facilitated by a bulb that first clip couples to a bulb and the bulb holder is in turn clip coupled to a lamp base. Electrical connection is made through a duct traversing the bulb holder. By further enabling the bulb holder to lamp base coupling to be rotatable, the lamp pieces may be assembled in secure relation to each other in one operation, and quickly oriented in a second operation. An appropriate bond may be subsequently applied between the bulb holder and the lamp base to permanently fix the two pieces.
US 5,059,855A application describes a discharge lamp has a lamp assembly including a discharge lamp unit with a pair of lamp leads extending therefrom, and a base assembly including a pair of base leads electrically connected to the pair of lamp leads and mechanically supporting the lamp unit in position with respect to the base assembly. The base assembly comprises a hollow base structure of electrically insulating material molded in one piece with a partition dividing the interior thereof into a pair of completely isolated spaces. Electrically connected to the base leads, a pair of sheet metal conductors is received with clearances in the respective isolated spaces in order to preclude the possibility of an electric discharge taking place between the pair of conductors within the base structure.
Thus, common construction in prior art lamp holders includes an inner hollow shell member affixed to the outer lamp envelope which is threaded into an outer shell member. This multi-shell base assembly complicates lamp manufacture as well as increases lamp cost. A need to carefully control the physical tolerances in both size and shape of the individual shell members in such base assembly for the high speed lamp manufacture now being carried out represents still another problem associated with the prior art base construction.
Thus, it is evident that the need remains for an easily installed, aesthetically pleasing lamp holder which does not require complicated multi-shell base assembly. Also there is need to reduce material costs for a base construction.

OBJECTIVE OF THE INVENTION
Accordingly, one object of the present invention is to provide a more simple base construction for lamp holders.
A still further object of the present invention is to reduce material costs for a base construction.
Still another object of the present invention is to provide a relatively simple modification in otherwise conventional lamp manufacture needed for the basing.
These and still further object of the present invention will become more apparent upon considering the following detailed description for the present invention.
