Abstract: Polyethylene plastics are dangerous to all living organisms in the world. Some of the side effects of this plastic are reduction in ground water level, various health issue such as digestion problem, cancer, skin disease etc,. An alternative for polyethylene plastic is bio plastic, this can be prepared from corn starch using several process. A highlight in our work is to indicate the decay level of bio plastics by the growth of dry seeds (Bringal, Beans, Lady’s Finger etc.,) using plastic plantation method. Hence the polyethylene plastic penetration to the earth surface is reduced and the afforestation can be increased.
Description:Start by measuring the corn starch. Need about 1 cup of corn starch for a small batch. Create a Corn Starch Paste In a mixing bowl, mix the corn starch with a small amount of water to create a thick paste. Stir until there are no lumps. Add a tablespoon or two of glycerol to the corn starch paste. Glycerol acts as a plasticizer, making the bio-plastic more flexible and less brittle. Adjust the amount to achieve the desired consistency. Heat the mixture over low to medium heat on a stove-top. Stir continuously to prevent lumps and sticking. The mixture will thicken as it heats.
If the mixture is too thick, add a small amount of water. If it's too thin, add more corn starch. Then want a smooth, gel-like consistency. Once the mixture reaches a smooth and gel-like consistency, remove it from the heat and let it cool. You can speed up the cooling process by placing it in the refrigerator. When the mixture is cool enough to handle, you can shape it into your desired forms using moulds or by hand. Allow the corn starch bio-plastic creations to air dry for 12 hours. You can also speed up the drying process by using a low-temperature oven.
After the preparation of those bio-plastic materials, we are sealing some plantation seed with it. Seeds are likely brinjal, beans, ladies finger, etc,. As these seeds are capable of growing very fast. The seeds are sealed at the non-used surface, corners or at the bottom. When the products are dumped into the soil, the seed starts its growth within 5 days. Which in addition implies the decomposition of the products. As a result natural vegetation are also done. And it reduces the carbon emission.
