Abstract: During the process of landing gear assembly and dismantle during overhaul/repair several units are required to be dismantled from the landing gear. Dismantling of undercarriage is manual process need to take care of parts in undercarriage. There are two stages of dismantling and assembly. During dismantle hydraulic oil inside the landing gear need to remove for that landing gear need to hold vertically This process of dismantling of undercarriage should be ease in operation to avoid any damage to detail parts. The present fixture of dismantling is not suitable to hold, dismantling and assembly process. It is time consuming, difficult in operation and can be damage to' surface of landing gear parts and required skillset for mentioned operation. To address this a high density wooden fixture specially designed for assembly and dismantling process of fighter aircraft landing gear.

1. Title of the invention

The invention relates to fixture of fighter Aircraft landing Gear Assembly.
Background of invention:
Fixture design is highly complex and intuitive process. Fixture is a special purpose work holding device which improve the efficiency, method and class of doing work with repeatability and accuracy. Proper fixture design could improve the quality of product and also identified the numerous advantages that are associated with the use of fixture in manufacturing to include production increase, cost reduction interchangeability and high accuracy of parts, reduction of accident as safety is improved. The design is dependent On numerous factors which are analyzed to achieve an optimum output, that fixture should be made of rigid light material to facilitate easy handling. Existing fixtures in ergonomic design and have limited degree of freedom during assembly. The constraint of holding undercarriage in vertical position, additional support staff as helping hand and high fatigue of operator while performing the operation was necessity for invention.
Presently there are fixtures to hold for assembly only but there is no fixture available for assembly, dismantle (used as multipurpose).
4. Summary of the present invention
To address the above problem a special fixture is designed. In this invention a new multipurpose fixture is fabricated and used for undercarriage convenience. As the material used is high density wood it is more economical and light in weight. During handling of landing gear it is more convenient regarding quality of product. This fixture can be used for display of landing gear during visit. The essential features of fixture is include
1. Clamp position
2. Neatness of work piece.
3. Standardization.
4. Idle time reduction.
5. Setup time reduction.
6. Hardened surface.
The Main purpose of mentioned fixture is to locate and in some cases hold a work piece during either a machinery or manual operation.
5. Detailed Description Of Drawings:
A fixture for the dismantling and assembly of fighter aircraft landing gear assembly comprises of:
1. Base Plate (I); the plate where whole undercarriage can be rest.
2. Support (2); for main support to undercarriage.
3. Locator Plates (3); to locate undercarriage.
4. Locator blocks (4); for pivoting to undercarriage in vertical position.
5. V Blocks (5); for keeping undercarriage in vertical position.
6. Front support (6) to support undercarriage during horizontal position.
7. The device consists of three pivot pins for position three and four.
8. There are three holes on each of V blocks for pins to locate on locator blocks.
9. Item number 8 and 9 felt to provide cushions to main body.
10. Item number 10, pins (6 numbers) are provided
11. Item number 11. (6pins) are provided to locator pins.
12. Item number 12 is provided to front support.
13. Item no 13 two locator pin is provided.

6. DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF INVENTION
The main object of invention is to provide a multipurpose fixture and suggest process for dismantling and assembly of fighter aircraft landing gear assembly in minimum efforts thus reducing down time of LRUS. A day to day production of undercarriage consists of processes.
1. LRU confirmation in testing.
2. Dismantling of undercarriages.
3. Rework in undercarriages.
4. Assembly of undercarriages.
5. Testing of undercarriages.
6. Final stage painting.
Handling of heavy undercarriages of fighter aircrafts is difficult while assembly / dismantle because it need to be frequently moved during assembly/ testing /dismantling to access particular location and position to deal with. This includes rubber seals installation, fasteners installation, applying torque to particular component or fasteners, greasing , testing , oil draining, cleaning, sealing compound application, name plate installation, stencilling etc. While performing these task it is important to avoid extra fatigue and loss of both man and machine. In existing method above task is achieved by assistance of fixture made of steel and other metals like aluminium and cast iron. Manufacturing of these fixture is challenging task because it need critical designing, heavy raw material, precision machining and welding etc. Soft metal like brass/ bronze bushings are need to be manufactured and installed for locator holes. Cutting of heavy metal plates, machining and heat treatment operations are time and resource consuming operations. This operations involves more expenditure and
getting cost uneconomical. Also metallic fixtures are not easy to handle for both man and machine due to its heavy weight. To overcome this problem we have design and manufactured high density wood material fixture with following advantages.
1. Less efforts and fatigue for assembly.
2. No supporting staff is required as a helping hand.
3. Proper holding (Aircraft holding locations)
4. Ergonomics is applied to increase convenience and safety of operators.
5. More flexible design and ease to make alteration as per requirements.
6. Standardization of assembly procedure.
7. Use of cost effective material i.e. high density wood instead of metal.
8. Less time and resource is required for development of facility.
9. It is mainly concern to quality and safety of man and machine.
10. Less waste is generated so less carbon footprint.
11. Renewable resources are used so makes it environment friendly.
12. Easy to salvage in conventional ways.

1. A fixture for the dismantling and assembly of LCA nose landing gear assembly comprises of:
- Base Plate (1); the plate where whole undercarriage can be rest.
- Support (2); for main support to undercarriage.
- Locator Plates (3); to locate undercarriage.
- Locator blocks (4); for pivoting to undercarriage in vertical position.
- V Blocks (5); for keeping undercarriage in vertical position.
- Front support (6) to support undercarriage during horizontal position.
- The device consists of three pivot pins for position three and four.
- There are three holes on each of V blocks for pins to locate on locator blocks.
2. The fixture for assembly and dismantling of the undercarriage as claimed in Claim 1. wherein the length of the base plate in this case ranging from 700 mm to 750 mm;
3. The fixture for assembly and dismantling of the undercarriage as claimed in Claim 1. wherein the width of the base plate ranges from 400mm to 500 mm.
4. The fixture for assembly and dismantling of the undercarriage as claimed in Claim 1. wherein the thickness of the base plate ranges from 50 mm to 60 mm.
5. The fixture for assembly and dismantling of the undercarriage as claimed in Claim 1. wherein the support plate has a circular hole on the top of center of the plate.
6. The fixture for assembly and dismantling of the undercarriage as claimed in Claim 1. wherein the locator blocks with two hole on the center of the block.

Wherein the V blocks with three holes on the center of the blocks.
