A Method And A System For Producing Catalyst Coated Nut Coke
Abstract: The present disclosure discloses a method and a system for producing coated nut coke. The method comprises the step of blending a predefined quantity of calcined lime and iron bearing fines which are in the form of fines to form a catalytic mixture. After blending, the method includes the step of spraying the catalytic mixture on the nut coke by a spraying unit to form a coating over at least a portion of the nut coke. The catalytic mixture is sprayed in a dry state on the nut coke to form the improved coated nut coke. The improvement in properties of the coated nut coke consists at least one of coke reactivity index, and fuel rate in blast furnace. The coke reactivity index (CRI) of the coated nut coke increases by about 10% – 18 %.
