Abstract: Abstract: Design for Capturing and Storing of multiple videos of different formats along with audio and timestamp is realized to cater the needs of video recorder device. A system integrated on the airborne vehicle comprises of both digital and analog interface, but multiple numbers of Video recorder devices of different applications are available with same format either digital or analog. The present design of a video recorder device with recording of multiple videos of different format and time stamp is unique feature. The timestamp on video data is critical for airborne applications, it plays critical role in post flight analysis. The design implementation captures the multiple videos of different formats i.e digital and analog with timestamp and mixing audio with each captured channel. After capturing and processing the channels, they are muxed in containers for storing in external memory through SATA interface or streamed over Ethernet for display purpose.
We claim:
1. A Design, implemented for capturing and storing of multiple videos of different formats along with audio and time stamp comprising:
- a Video receiver(l), which is configurable through 12C interface from video processor (4) to detect DVI video signal and convert the detected signal to ITU-BT 656 compatible digital video bus;
- a Video decoder(2), which is configurable through I2Cinterface from video processor to detect and perform Analog to digital conversion of PAL standard analog video. It also converts the digitized video to ITU-BT 656 compatible digital video bus;
- a Audio Codec(3), which is configurable through I2C interface from video processor(4) to process the cockpit voice/audio data and format the data as per I2S Audio interface; and
- a Video Processor(4) is to configure the video receiver (1), video decoder(2), audio codec (3).
2. The video processor(4) as claimed in claim 1 also perform,
a. Hardware accelerated H.264 compression
b. AC3 audio compression
c. Muxing of compressed DVI video stream and compressed audio stream synchronously to an Mp4 container
d. Muxing of compressed analog video stream and compressed audio stream synchronously to an MP4 container
e. Generation of time stamp information for DVI video, Analog video and audio and store the information in separate readable text file format for each data stream in SATA memory
f. Storing of muxed DVI video and audio data into a playable MP4 file
g. Storing of muxed Analog video and audio data into a playable MP4 file
h. Simultaneous and synchronous execution of all the tasks in a defined sequence.
