A Bobbin For Winding An Optical Fiber Thereon

Abstract: Described herein is a bobbin [200] for winding an optical fiber thereon. The bobbin [200] comprises: at least one side plate [102] installed on an end thereof, to define a secondary optical fiber winding region [200b] around a periphery thereof; a cylindrical portion [202] defining a primary optical fiber winding region [200b]; and a first and second disc-shaped flange portions [204, 206] on either ends thereof. At least one of the first and second disc-shaped flange portions [204, 206] defines a through-slot [210] for routing the optical fiber from the primary optical fiber winding region [200a] to the secondary primary winding region [200b], and a curved support section [212] defined below the through-slot [210], and having a convex structure coaxial to the secondary optical fiber winding region [200b], for smoothly guiding the optical fiber from the through-slot [210] onto the secondary optical fiber winding region [200b].
