“A Lining System For A Reservoir”

Abstract: Present disclosure relates to a lining system (100) for a reservoir (R), comprising a geosynthetic clay liner (10) positioned on a floor (F) and walls (W) of the reservoir (R), a sand substrate (20) deposited on the geosynthetic clay liner (10) to form a sand cushion layer (20a) on the geosynthetic clay liner (10), and a geotextile layer (30) placed on the sand cushion layer and attached to at least one geomembrane (40). The geomembrane (40) covers the geotextile layer (30) and defines ends extending to be anchored at periphery of the reservoir. A plurality of tile layers (50) is placed on the geomembrane (40) through a mortar (60). The geosynthetic clay liner (10), the sand cushion layer (20a), the geotextile layer (30), the geomembrane (40) and the plurality of tile layers (50) abut with one another to form a single structure to prevent leakage and seepage of fluid from the reservoir (R).
