Abstract: Title: High Fatigue Strength Main Wheel for Aircraft with Dust and Water Resistance Arrangement The Main Wheel operates with Brake Unit installed on main undercarriage landing gear. This Main Wheel receives transmission by thrust generated by turbo propulsion of aircraft so thus aircraft starts rolling free over heavy duty Taper Roller Bearings (7) & (8). The Main Wheel Hub (1) is bowl type with loose Flange (5) & Lock Ring (6). The Wheel Hub (1) has space to accommodate metallic rotor discs of the brake interposed between metallic-ceramic stator discs. For this purpose, steel Drive Blocks (14) are dove-tailed in the inner periphery of the Hub {1) which provides drive to rotor discs. The Taper Roller Bearing is provided with Steel alloy Seal Housing(2), inserted with Cotton Felt, duly misted with Bearing Grease, to prevent ingress of water or dust and loss of grease during operation. Heat sensitive Fusible Plugs (4) placed on Wheel Hub (1) periphery to ensure safe tyre deflation.
