Abstract: A current balancing circuit (100) is described. The charge balancing circuit (100) comprises one or more voltage sensors for determining voltage level of a plurality of cells in a battery. A microcontroller is configured to determine a sequence of the plurality of cells for performing power dissipation based on based on delta cell voltages of the plurality of cells. A heat dissipating element is used for dissipating power from the plurality of cells, based on the sequence. A temperature sensor senses a temperature of the resistor and providing a value of the temperature to the microcontroller. Furthermore, the current balancing circuit (100) includes one or more semiconductor switches whose operation is controlled by the microcontroller for controlling operation of the resistor for performing the power dissipation.
