Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for charging and discharging a secondary battery, the method comprising: a step for pre-lithiating a negative electrode including a silicon-based active material; a step for manufacturing a secondary battery including the pre-lithiated negative electrode, a positive electrode, a separator, and an electrolyte; and a step for performing one or more cycles of electrochemically charging and electrochemically discharging the secondary battery, wherein the electrochemical charging and discharging of the secondary battery is performed such that the difference between the charging SOC and discharging SOC of the pre-lithiated negative electrode is 18% to 32%.
