Electric Actuator And Vehicle Drum Brake Comprising Same

Abstract: This electric actuator comprises an electric motor capable of two-way rotation, a motion conversion mechanism that converts the rotation of the electric motor into reciprocating linear motion of a screw shaft, an actuator case that houses the electric motor and the motion conversion mechanism, and a boot that covers the portion of the screw shaft extending out of the actuator case, wherein a ventilation hole is formed in the actuator case to ventilate an enclosed space inside the actuator case and the boot, the ventilation hole is provided with a moisture-permeable waterproof member that allows the inflow and outflow of air while blocking the inflow and outflow of water, and a cover member is provided to cover the ventilation hole while enabling ventilation with outside air. It is thereby possible to minimize changes in the internal pressure of the actuator and improve the durability of the boot with a simple configuration, without increasing the number of parts, complicating the structure, or causing any associated cost increases.
