Battery Module Having Enhanced Safety

Abstract: Disclosed is a battery module having an improved structure, which allows gas, flames or the like generated inside a battery module to be stably exhausted therefrom. The battery module according to one aspect of the present invention comprises: a cell assembly having one or more battery cells; a module case which accommodates a cell assembly in the inner space thereof, and which has a venting hole enabling venting gas generated by the cell assembly to be discharged; and a venting unit, which is provided on the outside of the module case, has an outer housing and an inner housing that are made of different materials, and enables the venting gas discharged from the venting hole to be introduced therein, flow along the surface of the inner housing and be discharged to the outside.
