Abstract: The present invention relates to a secondary battery capable of preventing overcharge and a charging method thereof. The secondary battery includes a lead part electrically connecting a positive electrode lead with a negative electrode lead, wherein a temperature-sensitive part having a shape which is deformed under high-temperature conditions is introduced into the side end of the negative electrode lead of the lead part, and the voltage between the positive electrode lead and the negative electrode lead is measured when the secondary battery is overcharged, thereby immediately stopping charging when the secondary battery is overcharged, and thus further improving the safety of the battery.
