Abstract: The present invention provides a battery module, a battery pack, and a method for detecting a time point of a gas venting risk, the battery module being configured to recognize, as a time point of a gas venting risk, a time at which the changed amount of the volume of a battery cell is changed from a stagnant state to an increasing state again. The present invention can recognize a risk of gas venting immediately before a gap generates in a sealing part of a pouch-type battery cell, and thus can improve the safety of, in particular, a battery module, to which a large-capacity battery cell has been applied, and a battery pack.
