Abstract: [Problem] To provide an electric motor capable of ensuring insulation between a circuit board and a heat sink while achieving miniaturization of the motor in the axial direction. [Solution] An electric motor according to an embodiment of the present invention comprises: a heat sink that covers an opening end of a cylindrical resin outer shell; a circuit board that is disposed in an internal space covered with the resin outer shell and the heat sink; and a heat transfer member that exhibits electric insulation and that is disposed between the heat sink and the circuit board. The heat sink has: a disk that abuts against the opening end of the resin outer shell; an annular protrusion that protrudes from the disk toward the circuit board side in the axial direction; and a projection that is disposed closer to an inner-diameter side than the annular protrusion and that projects from the disk toward an electronic component. The heat transfer member has a heat transfer part held between the electronic component and the projection, and a peripheral edge part that is provided outside the heat transfer part and that is positioned outside the outer peripheral edge of the electronic component as seen from the axial direction.
