Abstract: This laser scanning device for causing a laser beam to scan over a surface of an electrical steel plate comprises a laser beam output unit which emits a laser beam, a polygon mirror which has a prismatic shape including a top surface and a bottom surface that are polygonal, in which at least any one surface excluding the top surface and the bottom surface is formed as a mirror, which rotates about a shaft, serving as an axis of rotation, that penetrates through the top surface and the bottom surface, and which causes the laser beam emitted from the laser beam output unit to be reflected by the mirror, and an optical system which guides the laser beam reflected by the polygon mirror to the surface of the electrical steel plate, wherein the axis of rotation of the polygon mirror is parallel to the surface of the electrical steel plate, and is substantially parallel to a direction in which the laser beam is scanned.
