Abstract: The present invention relates to a battery module having improved impact resistance and safety and a battery pack including same and, specifically, to a battery module and a battery pack including same, the battery module comprising: a first case having a reception space; a plurality of battery cells received upright in the reception space to allow the positive electrode terminals thereof to be directed upward; one or more bus bars located adjacent to the positive electrode terminal of the battery cell; a wire for electrically connecting the battery cell and the bus bar; a rib structure located on the battery cell and including a rib protruding upward to protect the wire and an opening to allow the wire to pass therethrough; and a resin layer filled in the upper portion of the battery cell.
