Abstract: A battery module, according to the present invention, comprises: a battery cell assembly formed by forming length-directional unit cells which each have two or more battery cells, each having leads formed on both length-directional ends thereof, arranged in a row in the length direction, and stacking two or more rows of the length-directional unit cells in the thickness direction of the battery cells; and a module case for receiving the battery cell assembly, wherein the module case has a one side plate and an other side plate which face each other and are arranged perpendicular to the thickness direction of the battery cells so as to cover both side surfaces of the battery cell assembly, and the one side plate has a coupling protrusion part formed, and the other side plate has a coupling concave part formed in a shape enabling the coupling protrusion part to be fitted therein.
