Abstract: An electrode assembly according to an embodiment of the present invention is a jelly-roll type electrode assembly having a structure in which a first sheet-shaped electrode, a second sheet-shaped electrode, and a separator interposed therebetween are wound in one direction, wherein the first electrode and the second electrode each include: an uncoated portion at the long-side end thereof, the uncoated portion being not coated with an active material layer; and a coated portion in the area thereof except the uncoated portion, the coated portion being coated with the active material layer, and the first electrode includes at least one insulating layer which covers both at least a part of the uncoated portion and at least a part of the coated portion.
