Abstract: An image encoding/decoding method and apparatus for performing intra prediction using a plurality of reference sample lines are provided. An image decoding method may comprise configuring a plurality of reference sample lines, reconstructing an intra prediction mode of a current block (S510), and performing intra prediction for the current block based on the intra prediction mode and the plurality of reference sample lines (S530).

Specification

We Claim:-
1. An image decoding method performed by a decoding apparatus, the method
comprising:
receiving partition information for a coding tree unit;
partitioning a split target block in the coding tree unit into a plurality of coding units
based on the partition information; and
performing intra prediction for each of the plurality of coding units,
wherein a partition type for the coding tree unit includes at least one of quad tree split,
binary tree split and ternary tree split, and
wherein a coding unit related to a leaf node of the quad tree split is a root node of the
binary tree split or the ternary tree split.
2. The image decoding method of claim 1, wherein based on a size of the split
target block is greater than a predetermined threshold, the split target block is partitioned by
the quad tree split.
3. The image decoding method of claim 1, wherein based on a size of the split
target block is 128x128, the split target block is partitioned by the quad tree split.
4. The image decoding method of claim 1, wherein a coding unit partitioned
based on the binary tree split or the ternary tree split is not partitioned by the quad tree split.
5. The image decoding method of claim 1, wherein the ternary tree split splits
the split target block vertically or horizontally at a ratio of 1:2:1.
6. An image encoding method performed by an image encoding apparatus, the
method comprising:
partitioning a split target block in a coding tree unit into a plurality of coding units;
performing intra prediction for each of the plurality of coding units; and
encoding image information including the partition information for the coding tree
unit;
wherein a partition type for the coding tree unit includes at least one of quad tree split,
binary tree split and ternary tree split, and
wherein a coding unit related to a leaf node of the quad tree partition is a root node of
the binary tree partition or the ternary tree partition.
7. The image encoding method of claim 6, wherein based on a size of the split
target block is greater than a predetermined threshold, the split target block is partitioned by
the quad tree split.
8. The image encoding method of claim 6, wherein based on a size of the split
target block is 128x128, the split target block is partitioned by the quad tree split.
9. A transmission method for image data, the method comprising:
obtaining a bitstream for encoded image information, wherein the encoded image
information is generated based on partitioning a split target block in a coding tree unit into a
plurality of coding units, performing intra prediction for each of the plurality of coding units;
and encoding image information including the partition information for the coding tree unit,
and
transmitting the image data comprising the bitstream,
wherein a partition type for the coding tree unit includes at least one of quad tree split,
binary tree split and ternary tree split, and
wherein a coding unit related to a leaf node of the quad tree partition is a root node of
the binary tree partition or the ternary tree partition.
