FIELD OF INVENTION
The present invention relates to an automated device for removing garlic cloves and peanut skin. More particularly, it discloses a garlic and roasted peanut peeler with an alternative chopping option.
BACKGROUND ART
Garlic and peanuts are important ingredients in Indian dishes, and most dishes use garlic or peanuts as a main ingredient. Whatever garlic we get in the market, we cannot use it directly while cooking. We need to peel off the skin first and cut it to the size required by the dish we are preparing.
The peeling of skin by hand is a tedious process that takes a long time. Peeling of skin with the help of fingers requires sharp nails to take the skin off from garlic cloves, which means the smell can remain for a long time after doing this activity on our fingers and nails. One can only manually peel off 10-15 cloves of garlic or 50 – 100 grams of peanuts. If we want more garlic/peanuts for certain Indian dishes for guests at home, it will require some automation. Further peeling of garlic skin by hand also raises hygienic concerns as there is a possibility of contamination of the garlic pods while doing so. The peeled garlic which is available in the market, is done so in an unhygienic process.
In the prior art, a silicon-based garlic peeler is provided in the market, which is also a manual solution. Garlic gets smashed during the usage of this available solution, and manual pressure on the silicon tube needs to be built, as shown in Fig 1.
In another prior art, an industrial garlic peeler machine was provided, which is for industrial usage and is not suitable for kitchen/family use, as shown in Fig 2. In the prior art, there is provided an Indian application no. 201841026477, which discloses a garlic peeling mixer jar for peeling the garlic skins. The plastic garlic peeler blade in the jar is used to peel the skin of garlic cloves. This device includes components like a garlic peeling mixer jar and a garlic peeler blade. This unique garlic peeling mixer jar reduces time consumption and protects the hands and fingers from health issues like skin irritation, burning sensation in the fingers, and nail breaking.
In the prior art, there is provided another Indian application no. 202231047083, which discloses an automatic garlic lobe(s) processing device comprising of a cylindrical body for enabling chopping and smashing operation, a chamber housed on the body's first portion for placing garlic lobes along with water, a microphone for providing the voice input command, the peltier unit for heating the water, a spiral blade for peeling the lobe, multiple primary iris pores for dispensing the water, a motorized iris lid provided with a circular blade for the remnant peel removal, a telescopic pusher for transferring the lobe(s) into the second portion, a motorized hinge for the movement of the cutter in a perpendicular direction with respect to the shaft for smashing, multiple secondary iris poles, vibrating unit and a flap for removing the chopped garlic/garlic paste.
SUMMARY OF INVENTION
In this invention, the user needs to put the garlic cloves or roasted peanuts inside the appliance with the skin. Inside the container, there is a rotating shaft with a flexible blade and abrasive surface. Using DC Power, the battery, which is connected to the motor attached to the shaft (flexible blade), is rotated, causing the garlic to spin and hit the abrasive surface, causing the skin to peel off. This appliance can chop the garlic cloves after replacing the shaft with a chopping blade.
Therefore such as herein described, there is provided a garlic / roasted peanut peeler cum chopper comprising of a cylindrically shaped body with the base as the first portion and the top as the second portion, a chamber attached to the first portion; a centrally disposed of a rotating shaft with a spiral-shaped flexible food grade nylon blade installed within the said chamber operably connected with a motorized lid configured on a secondary side of the chamber & abrasive surface inside the said chamber; a container is disposed below the said chamber for the collection of waste; wherein a DC Power motor attached to the shaft with said flexible blade is rotated causing the garlic to spin and hit the abrasive surface causes the skin to peel off.
In another embodiment, the herein disclosed automated solution which is solving the below problems

DETAILED DESCRIPTION
Garlic and peanuts are common food material in daily life of people, has the functions of sterilization, health care and the like, is deeply loved by people, needs to be peeled when in use, adopts manual garlic peeling, has slow peeling efficiency, generates pungent smell, wastes time and labor if more garlic is to be peeled, and has the structure that a garlic peeling mechanism is arranged in a stirring cup, a cup cover is added, a driving motor drives the garlic / peanut peeling mechanism to rotate, the garlic peeling mechanism impacts the garlic/ peanut in the stirring cup, and the garlic and garlic peel generate friction, so that the garlic / peanut is peeled, but the garlic / peanut has different shapes, is small and large, is often peeled incompletely, needs longer time to peel the garlic, and has low garlic/ peanut peeling efficiency; the garlic / peanut peeling mechanism adopted at present is often solid with relatively high hardness, usually the garlic peeling mechanism is made of metal materials, when the garlic / peanut peeling mechanism impacts garlic, the interior of the garlic is easily damaged, the interior of the garlic is damaged, and the use of the garlic is influenced, and in the process of high-speed rotation of the garlic peeling mechanism, part of the garlic is possibly clamped on the garlic peeling mechanism, so that the garlic/ peanut peeling is incomplete, and the garlic / peanut is inconvenient to clean; if the quantity is large, a large cup body and a large peeling mechanism are needed, so that more garlic / peanut can be peeled at one time, and therefore the peeling mechanism with high hardness is often heavy in weight, large energy is consumed during rotation, a rotating shaft of a driving motor is easily damaged, and the service life of the rotating shaft is shortened; in conclusion, the existing peeling mechanism mainly has the defect of low garlic peeling efficiency.
The present invention relates to an automatic garlic/peanut processing device that aids in processing garlic/peanut to produce garlic/peanut mix more automatically, thereby reducing physical effort and saving time, along with preventing any chances of wastage of garlic/peanut.
Referring to Figures 3 and 5, a perspective view of a garlic/peanut processing device is illustrated, comprising of a cylindrically shaped body with the base as the first portion and the top as the second portion, a chamber attached to the first portion, a spiral-shaped flexible food grade nylon blade installed within the chamber operably connected with a motorized lid configured on a secondary side of the chamber. A container is disposed of below the said chamber for waste collection.
In this invention, the user needs to put/place/deposit the garlic cloves /roasted peanut with skin inside the appliance. The container has a rotating shaft with a flexible blade & abrasive inside surface. By using DC Power, the battery, which is connected to the motor attached to the shaft (flexible blade), is rotated, causing the input garlic/peanut to spin close to the side wall of the cylindrical-shaped body. The said garlic lobe(s) / peanut hits the abrasive surface, causing the skin to peel off. After replacing the shaft with a chopping blade, this appliance can chop the garlic/peanut. For the chopping operation, the flexible blades need to be replaced with steel blades configured for chopping operation. A battery is provided on the device to supply power to the motor so that the setup can function in a well-desired manner.
The table below better illustrates the surface roughness and the performance of the peeler.
Ra Values Indicates the roughness of surface, The values are mentioned in table has significance in term of roughness of surface as below-
Surface Roughness: - Ra 1.8 > Ra 1.32 > Ra 1.06 > Ra 0.76
Roughness of surface is less in Ra 0.76 as compared to Ra 1.06 results in less peeling efficiency, whereas Ra 1.8 it too rough as compare to Ra 1.06 results in the damage of garlic cloves.

1. A garlic / roasted peanut peeler cum chopper comprising of:
a cylindrical shaped body with the base as the first portion and the top as the second portion, a chamber attached to the first portion;
a centrally disposed of a rotating shaft with a spiral-shaped flexible food-grade nylon blade installed within the said chamber operably connected with a motorized lid configured on a secondary side of the chamber & abrasive surface inside the said chamber;
a container is disposed of below the said chamber for the collection of waste;
wherein a DC Power motor attached to the shaft with said flexible blade is rotated causing the garlic to spin and hit the abrasive surface causing the skin to peel off.
2. The garlic / roasted peanut peeler cum chopper, as claimed in claim 1, wherein the said flexible blades are replaced with steel blades for chopping.
3. The garlic / roasted peanut peeler cum chopper, as claimed in claim 1, wherein the said abrasive surface has a Ra value (micron surface roughness) within 1.32 – 1.06.
4. The garlic / roasted peanut peeler cum chopper, as claimed in claim 1, wherein the said abrasive surface has Ra value (micron surface roughness) as 1.06.
