Specification

Description:FIELD OF INVENTION
[0001] Embodiments of a present disclosure relate to a field of cooling fans in vehicles and more particularly to a fan assembly for radiators and a method to assemble the same.
BACKGROUND
[0002] Frequently, vehicles are used for long drives (a period that lasts for at least thirty minutes) at a relatively high speed. An example of driving a high-speed vehicle is on a highway. When such vehicles are driven at relatively high speeds, motion of the vehicle is generally enough to cool the internal combustion engine. At times, the vehicles may employ a clutching mechanism that selectively disconnects the fan from the engine drivetrain in order to minimize parasitic power losses. The engines of the vehicles with clutching mechanism such as trucks may become very hot, especially when trucks are idling, like in a traffic jam. An engine cooling system absorbs heat from the engine is stored in the radiator. For blowing away the heat a cooling fan which is attached to the clutching mechanism is used. The fan helps to pull air in, through the radiator to cool the engine.
[0003] Currently, the existing fan named NF430 is used with T12Nm viscous clutch, having large size fan and the clutch with high cost. NF is a nomenclature named to 11 open blade fan and 430 is the total diameter of the fan. There is need of a fan with reduced hub diameter, reduced total diameter and which is less in weight. The existing fans are not economically beneficial. Also, the existing fan system does not provide correct mounting of the fan on the clutch.
[0004] Hence, there is a need for a fan assembly for radiators and a method to assemble the same which addresses the aforementioned issues.
OBJECTIVE OF THE INVENTION
[0005] An objective of the present invention is to provide a fan assembly for radiators for facilitating exhaustion of heat.
[0006] Another objective of the present invention is to provide a fan assembly that is cost effective by providing small sized fan.
[0007] Yet, an objective of the present invention is to provide a fan assembly with reduced weight by reducing a hub diameter of the fan.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION
[0008] In accordance with one embodiment of the disclosure, a fan assembly for radiators is provided. The fan assembly includes a hub. The hub includes a plurality of brackets and at least two extrusions. The hub moulded over a plurality of brackets. The hub includes at least two extrusions positioned at a pre-defined distance with a pre-defined angle. The at least two extrusions allow fit mounting of a fan over a viscous clutch of a vehicle. The plurality of brackets is spaced equidistantly on a slot of the hub. The plurality of brackets includes a curved structure with an arched top side, wherein the curved structure includes a plurality of holes for fitting in the hub.
[0009] In accordance with another embodiment a method for assembling the fan assembly for radiators is provided. The method includes providing, a hub moulded over a plurality of brackets. The method also includes allowing, by at least two extrusions of the hub, fit mounting of a fan over a viscous clutch of a vehicle. Further, the method includes spacing, the plurality of brackets equidistantly on a slot. [0037] Various embodiments of the present disclosure provide a fan assembly for radiators for engine cooling. The fan assembly disclosed in the present disclosure is cost effective due to the reduced size of the fan and hub. The fan assembly disclosed in the present disclosure is with less weight due to reduced size of the fan and the hub. The fan assembly provides extrusions to avoid wrong mounting of the fan assembly on the clutch. As the size and weight of the fan and the hub is reduced, the fan assembly is energy efficient.
[0038] Further, the fan assembly disclosed in the present disclosure, provides variety of speed of the fan using clutch to optimise the engine cooling requirement and also contribute to optimising the engine economy and efficiency.
[0039] While specific language has been used to describe the disclosure, any limitations arising on account of the same are not intended.
