DESC:TECHNICAL FIELD
The present disclosure relates to a nutritious holistic polyherbal ayurvedic soup to aid growth & development in children.
BACKGROUND
Childhood nutrition is a critical area of concern for parents and healthcare professionals alike. School children are increasingly becoming overweight or obese leading to metabolic syndromes like - malnutrition, fatty liver, dyslipidemia, acidity/GERD, ulcers, digestive disorders- constipation, bloating, flatulence, diarrhea, and poor iron and vitamin levels. Many surveys conducted in different parts of India over the past decade suggest that 2.9-14.3 percent of children in the country could be obese and 1.5- 24 percent overweight. The problem has particularly assumed a public health concern in urban areas. A 2011 study by Jehangir Hospital in Pune and UCL Institute of Child Health, London, showed that 30 percent of children living in urban areas were obese or overweight. In a 2017 study published in the Indian Journal of Public Health, experts in Gujarat reported 33 percent of children studying in affluent schools of Rajkot were obese or overweight. Thus, providing children with a balanced and nutritious diet is essential for their Growth and Development and Immunity.
Junk food is usually high in sodium, sugar, saturated and trans fat, and almost no fiber. Consuming these foods on regular basis changes our gut micro biome leading to digestive disorders, mood disorders, anxiety, sleep issues, etc. High sodium intake can impact our heart and kidney health. Highly processed foods that are high in calories and low in vitamins, minerals, and fiber can affect blood sugar levels. Consuming these can cause a rapid rise in blood sugar levels. Further, use of artificial preservatives, flavors and additives such as monosodium glutamate (MSG) and artificial colors, can cause severe long term adverse effects on health such as cancer.
Also, it is challenging to provide a soup that is delectable enough to suit every palate, and also fulfill one’s dietary needs. Further, none of the commercially available soups contain any medicinal ingredients which may promote immunity.
There is therefore need for a nutritious holistic polyherbal ayurvedic soup that suits specific dietary preferences of children. There is also need for a soup preparation which can aid growth & development of children, provide essential macronutrients and micronutrients, provide specific health benefits, boost the immune system, help strengthen the body's defenses against illnesses and promote overall well-being. There is also need for a soup preparation which overcomes the listed drawbacks of commercially available foods, and provides an ayurvedic soup comprising nutritious and delicious ingredients with medicinal herbs, and eliminates the use of additives, preservatives, sugar, saturated fat and excessive sodium.
OBJECTS
Accordingly, an object of the present disclosure is to provide a nutritious holistic polyherbal ayurvedic soup to aid growth & development in children which overcomes the listed drawbacks of commercially available soups, and provides an ayurvedic soup comprising nutritious and delicious ingredients with medicinal herbs which offers an effective way to support children's growth and development as well as their immunity needs.
Another object of the present disclosure is to provide a nutritious holistic polyherbal ayurvedic soup which addresses the challenge of incorporating medicinal herbs in the diet in a safe and effective manner, while also ensuring that the soup is appealing to the palates.
Yet another object of the present disclosure is to provide a nutritious holistic polyherbal ayurvedic soup which eliminates use of additives, preservatives, coloring agents, sugar, saturated fat and excessive sodium, thereby promoting overall health and well-being of children.
