Removable Battery Arrangement System For Two Wheeler Vehicle

Abstract: ABSTRACT REMOVABLE BATTERY ARRANGEMENT SYSTEM FOR TWO-WHEELER VEHICLE The system relates to a removable battery arrangement systems for commuter vehicles. The system allows users to easily remove the battery to service and charge as per their convenience, without any need of disassembling the vehicle. The system comprises a luggage box with a groove, housing a battery which is connected to the frame that is located below the passenger seat. The battery is positioned below the passenger seat such that the battery gets exposed to the air. The side panels of the vehicle is designed with a plurality of openings to provide ventilation to the battery. The air effectively controls temperature in an optimal range to enhance overall performance and efficiency of the battery. Figure 1

DESC:FIELD OF INVENTION
[001] The present invention relates to a removable battery arrangement system for two wheeler vehicles. Particularly, the present invention relates to removable battery system that is configured to provide effortless servicing and versatile charging, while maintaining the temperature of the battery during operation.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
[002] In the realm of commuter vehicles, the need for efficient and user friendly battery servicing solution has become paramount. Conventional vehicles are configured with fixed battery arrangements, making it laborious and time consuming to access and service the battery.

[003] Traditional fixed battery arrangements pose various challenges to the riders, such as easy accessibility and adaptability of batteries to different vehicles. Currently, there is a rapid development in new energy industries and usage of batteries are more than ever before. Batteries generates heat whenever they are engaged in charging or discharging. The amount of heat generated by the battery is directly proportional to the temperature of the battery. As whenever amount of heat increases, the temperature of battery increases, resulting poor performance of battery and reducing service life of the battery.

[004] The demand for sustainable transport solution is ever growing, and the rise in consumers seeking electric vehicles has amplified the need for an efficient and user friendly batteries with battery management systems to maintain optimized temperature of the battery.

[005] There are several patent literature available in the art disclosing removable battery systems. One such Indian patent application, IN202141059904 provides a battery removable apparatus for a two wheeler electric vehicle. Here, the removable battery apparatus is mounted over a longitudinal base frame for the ease of removal of the battery. A drawback of this system is that it does not provide any cooling mechanism to reduce the heat produced by the battery while in operation.

[006] Another Japanese patent application, JPH05139365A discloses an electric scooter with an electric motor, and a battery placed at the front, rear or the bottom of the storage compartment of the scooter. This invention also provides a fan inside the motor cover to keep the electric motor cool while in motion, but this setup doesn’t maintain the temperature of the batteries.

[007] Yet another European patent application, EP2848456A1 provides an electric motorcycle with a removable battery pack with supporting wheels, assembled inside a central cavity. The wheels in the battery carrier enable easy and comfortable displacement of the battery pack. But the positioning of the batteries in the closed central cavity can cause over heating of the battery pack, thereby reducing the efficiency and life of the battery.

[008] Therefore, keeping in view the problem associated with the state of the art, there is a need for a removable battery arrangement system in the vehicle. This system ensures maintenance of the battery’s optimal temperature naturally.

OBJECTIVES OF THE INVENTION

[009] The primary objective of the present invention is to provide removable battery arrangement for ease of assembling and servicing.

[010] Another objective of the present invention is to provide user friendly battery charging method.

[011] Another objective of the present invention is to provide proper air ventilation to a battery to maintain its temperature while discharging.

[012] Another objective of the present invention is provide better serviceability and ensure the safety of vehicle.

[013] Another objective of the present invention is to increase life span and reliability of battery.

[014] Yet another objective of the present invention is to increase performance of a battery.

[015] Other objectives and advantages of the present invention will become apparent from the following description taken in connection with the accompanying drawings, wherein, by way of illustration and example, the aspects of the present invention are disclosed.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

[016] The present invention relates to a removable battery arrangement system for two-wheeled vehicles. The system permits users to service and charge the battery at their convenience, without necessitating the disassembly of the vehicle. The removable battery can be charged even when detached from the vehicle, obviating the need for disassembly. The battery is positioned beneath the passenger seat, exposed to airflow via openings situated on the side panel covers of the vehicle. The battery is contained within a grooved structure that is open from below, facilitating direct air contact. This airflow reduces the temperature of the battery, particularly when the vehicle is in motion. The system enhances battery performance, safety, and efficiency.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

[025] The following description describes various features and functions of the disclosed system with reference to the accompanying figures. In the figures, similar symbols identify similar components, unless context dictates otherwise. The illustrative aspects described herein are not meant to be limiting. It may be readily understood that certain aspects of the disclosed system can be arranged and combined in a wide variety of different configurations, all of which have not been contemplated herein.

[026] Accordingly, those of ordinary skill in the art will recognize that various changes and modifications of the embodiments described herein can be made without departing from the scope of invention. In addition, descriptions of well-known functions and constructions are omitted for clarity and conciseness.

[030] It should be emphasized that the term “comprises/comprising” when used in this specification is taken to specify the presence of stated features, steps or components but does not preclude the presence or addition of one or more other features, steps, components or groups thereof.

[031] Accordingly the present invention relates to a removable battery arrangement system for two wheeler vehicles. Particularly, the present invention relates to removable battery system that is configured to provide effortless servicing and versatile charging, while maintaining the temperature of the battery during operation.

[032] In an embodiment, the removable battery system comprises a luggage box with a groove (003) that houses a battery (008), connected to the frame located below the passenger seat (004). Further, the groove (003) is fabricated in specific dimensions and the dimensions are in accordance with the dimensions of the battery assembly.

[033] In an embodiment, the battery is positioned below the passenger seat (004). The battery is housed within a grooved structure (003) having a bottom support, open sides and a top cover (007), enabling the direct contact of battery with air. This air effectively reduces the temperature of the battery, specifically when the vehicle is in motion. The system optimizes the performance and enhances overall safety and efficiency of the battery.

[034] In a preferred embodiment, openings are provided on the side panel covers (005) of the vehicle. These strategically placed openings allow the entry and exit of air while the vehicle is in motion, exposing the battery (008) positioned below the passenger seat (004) with outside air. This prevents the overheating of the batteries when in continuous motion. Figure 1(a) illustrates the overview of the two wheeler with air openings in the side panels.

[035] In an exemplary embodiment, the side panel covers of the two wheeler is provided with a plurality of openings, for the inlet and outlet of air when the vehicle is in motion. Air enters from the front openings (001) and flows to the surface of battery and exits from the rear openings (002) of the frame when the vehicle is in motion. These openings may be vertical, horizontal or a combination of both. This assembly helps in reducing and maintain the temperature of battery. Figure 1(b) illustrates the side panel (005) with plurality of air openings to allow air circulation around the battery.

[036] In an embodiment, the battery (008) in the system may be removed by lifting the passenger seat and opening the top cover of the groove without disassembling the vehicle. The removable battery system allows the users to easily service and charge the battery as per their convenience. The removable battery of the present invention can be charged even when the battery is not attached with the vehicle. Figure 2(a) and Figure 2(b) illustrates the location of battery in the two wheeler vehicle. Figures 3-6 illustrates different views of the two wheeler vehicle in accordance with the present invention.

[037] In a preferred embodiment, the groove is configured with a rotatable cover (007) to allow the user to remove the battery from the frame of the vehicle. Figure 7 illustrates opened and closed configuration of the vehicle’s seat for installing or removing battery from the vehicle.

[038] In another embodiment, the battery is designed to be removable from the groove, so that the battery may be charged even in the removed state, by connecting it with the external electric sources.

[039] In an exemplary embodiment, a luggage space (006) is provided next to the groove to store tools and other small items.

[040] In an exemplary embodiment, the groove of the present invention may be designed to fit the removable battery (008) in a vertical or horizontal position depending upon the vehicle, so as to utilize minimal space of vehicle chassis.

[041] In a preferred embodiment, the battery located below the passenger seat is securely held to prevent any movement or vibration during riding state of the vehicle, preventing any damage or short circuits to the battery. The battery is meticulously located to ensure safety of the battery, as well to reduce any mechanical or electrical losses. Figure 8 illustrates chassis, frame of the vehicle and the groove (003) in which the battery is fitted.

[042] In another embodiment, as shown in Figure 9, the luggage box of the vehicle is shown along with the groove (003) where the battery is kept. Figure 10 illustrates battery cover (007) of the vehicle in accordance with an embodiment of the present disclosure.

[043] In another exemplary embodiment, the battery is placed near a motor and controller of the vehicle. This strategic placement of the battery helps in improving battery efficiency and its performance. This location of battery also leads to reduce electrical wirings and IC chips, which also helps in maximizing battery capacity.

[044] The present invention provides the following advantages over the existing state of arts:
• Easy accessibility of battery for charging the electric vehicle.
• Cooling method for battery, preventing overheating during continuous use.
• Ease of assembling and servicing the battery system without disassembling the vehicle.

[045] While this invention has been described in connection with what is presently considered to be the most practical and preferred embodiment, it is to be understood that the invention is not limited to the disclosed embodiments, but, on the contrary, is intended to cover various modifications and equivalent arrangements included within the scope of the appended claims. ,CLAIMS:WE CLAIM:
1. A removable battery system for two-wheeler vehicles, comprising:
• a groove (003) configured to house a battery, wherein the groove is integrated with a frame of the vehicle and located below a passenger seat, facilitating ease of battery (008) removal and replacement by lifting the passenger seat (004);
• a top cover (007) associated with the groove, the top cover being rotatable to allow insertion and removal of the battery without necessitating disassembly of the vehicle components;
• a plurality of openings positioned on the side panel covers of the vehicle, strategically configured to allow air to enter from the front (001) and exit from the rear (002), providing ventilation to the battery during motion to regulate its temperature.
2. The removable battery system of claim 1, wherein the groove (003) further comprises open sides and bottom support to facilitate airflow around the battery.
3. The removable battery system of claim 2, wherein the openings on the side panel covers may be oriented vertically, horizontally, or in a combination of both to optimize air passage.
4. The removable battery system of claim 1, wherein the groove (003) is dimensioned to accommodate the battery (008) in either a vertical or horizontal orientation to optimize space utilization within the vehicle chassis.
5. The removable battery system of claim 1, additionally comprising a luggage space (006) positioned adjacent to the groove, designed to store tools and small items safely.
6. The removable battery system of claim 1, further comprising a mechanism to securely hold the battery in position within the groove, mitigating vibration and movement during vehicle operation.
7. The removable battery system of claim 1, wherein the placement of the battery proximal to the electric motor and controller minimizes electrical wiring requirements, enhancing efficiency and performance of the battery system.
