Abstract: ABSTRACT REMOVABLE BATTERY BOX FOR AN ELECTRIC VEHICLE FOR EASY SERVICEABILITY The present invention discloses a removable battery box (001) for three-wheeler electric vehicles. The battery box (001) comprises, a battery pack (003) comprising a plurality of batteries; a removable battery openable cap (002); a locking (004) means attached to the removable battery box (001) to safeguard the battery pack (003); an air ventilation unit (007); and a plurality of fasteners (008). The battery box (001) is used to improve the serviceability of vehicles that depend on batteries for power. The box (001) provides easy accessibility and allows the technician to operate on battery pack (003) without removing it from the vehicle. Figure 2

DESC:FIELD OF INVENTION
[001] The present invention relates to a battery box for an electric vehicle. More particularly the present invention relates to a removable battery box for a three-wheeler electric vehicle with improved serviceability and easy replacement and repair of the battery.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

[002] Electric vehicles are becoming increasingly popular due to their environmental benefits and lower operational costs. The electric three-wheeler vehicle includes a battery as a power source. However, these batteries tend to wear out over time and need to be replaced.

[003] One of the challenges with these vehicles is the maintenance and servicing of batteries. Batteries are large and heavy components that can be difficult to service. The servicing of batteries can be a time-consuming process due to complexity and safety considerations.

[004] Conventionally, in most of the three-wheeler electric vehicles, the battery is mounted on the rear side of the vehicle and it is typically housed in a sealed compartment. This makes it difficult to access the battery for inspection, maintenance or replacement. As a result, vehicle owner may need to take their vehicles to a specialized repair shop for even basic battery-related issues. This may cause difficulty in the battery service. Moreover, there are many patent documents disclosing removable battery pack for electric vehicles. One such patent document EP2280436A2 discloses a removable electric vehicle battery pack and electric vehicle equipped with that battery pack. The battery pack is inserted downward into, and disposed in a fixed position in a loading cavity (51) in the electric vehicle (50) to connect the connector (3) to the connecting terminals (52) mounted in the electric vehicle (50) and supply power to the electric vehicle (50). However, the maintenance and servicing of the battery becomes difficult as it is in a fixed position in a loading cavity.
[005] Therefore, keeping in view the problem associated with the state of the art there is a need for an improved battery box arrangement for three-wheeler electric vehicles.

OBJECTIVES OF THE INVENTION

[006] The primary objective of the present invention is to provide a removable battery box for a three-wheeler electric vehicle with improved serviceability
[007] Another object of the present invention is to provide improved air ventilation unit to a mounted battery of a three wheeler vehicle.

[008] Another objective of the present invention is to provide easy access of a battery.

[009] Yet another objective of the present invention is to provide an anti-theft unit to a vehicle for safe and secure battery box.

[010] Another objective of the present invention is to enhance the visual appearance of three wheeler vehicle.

[011] Yet another objective of the present invention is to secure the battery from external damages.

[012] Other objectives and advantages of the present invention will become apparent from the following description taken in connection with the accompanying drawings, wherein, by way of illustration and example, the aspects of the present invention are disclosed.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
[013] The present invention relates to a removable battery pack box for electric vehicles that facilitates better serviceability to the battery. The battery box of the present invention comprises, a battery pack comprising a plurality of batteries; a removable battery openable cap; a locking means attached to the removable battery box to safeguard the battery; an air ventilation unit; and a plurality of fasteners. The battery box can be easily removed by a technician using an ignition key and the box allows quick and easy access to the battery. The removable box have an anti-theft unit and it is directly locked by ignition key. This arrangement is obtained by modifying a front fascia, middle structure and hood frame along with seating arrangement of a three-wheeler vehicle. In an embodiment, the electric vehicle comprises a modified hood frame (005). The modified hood frame is load taking member of driver back rest and support the battery box mounting and canopy. Whereas the conventional hood frame is only capable of used as canopy.
[014] The battery box of the present invention is durable and waterproof, protecting the battery from the outer environment. This can be expand the lifespan of the battery and reduce the repairing cost. The removable battery box can also help to improve the overall safety of the battery pack from external damages as a result it extend the lifespan of the battery pack and reduce need of replacement. Additionally, the battery box can also be used to accommodate other wirings and electrical components.

[016] Figure 1 illustrates an overview of a locking (004) means and of a battery box (001) and represents modified hood frame (005) according to the present invention;

[017] Figure 2 illustrates an overview of removable battery box (001) when it is removed over the surface of battery pack (003) of an electric vehicle according to the present invention;

[018] Figure 3 illustrates the locking (004) means attached to the removable battery box (001) to safeguard a battery pack (003); and

[019] Figure 4 illustrates a plurality of fasteners (008) to attach the removable battery box (001) for the quick and easy removal of battery box (001) from the device.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

[020] The following description describes various features and functions of the disclosed system with reference to the accompanying figures. In the figures, similar symbols identify similar components, unless context dictates otherwise. The illustrative aspects described herein are not meant to be limiting. It may be readily understood that certain aspects of the disclosed system can be arranged and combined in a wide variety of different configurations, all of which have not been contemplated herein.

[021] Accordingly, those of ordinary skill in the art will recognize that various changes and modifications of the embodiments described herein can be made without departing from the scope of the invention. In addition, descriptions of well-known functions and constructions are omitted for clarity and conciseness.

[025] It should be emphasized that the term “comprises/comprising” when used in this specification is taken to specify the presence of stated features, steps or components but does not preclude the presence or addition of one or more other features, steps, components or groups thereof.

[026] The present invention relates to a removable battery box (001) of three-wheeler electric vehicle. The removable battery box (001) comprising, a battery pack (003) comprising plurality of batteries configured below the driver’s seat (006); a removable battery openable cap (002) configured to the top portion of the battery box (001); a locking (004) means attached to the removable battery box (001) to safeguard the battery pack (003) ; a plurality of fasteners (008) (as shown in Figure 4); and an air ventilation unit (007) to prevent explosion of the battery due to heating or accumulating explosive gases.

[027] The present invention further comprise of modified hood frame. The modified hood frame is load taking member of driver back rest and support the battery box mounting and canopy. Whereas the conventional hood frame is only capable of used as canopy.

[028] In an embodiment, the battery pack (003) is mounted to be located beneath the driver’s seat. The location of the battery is to help the users and technicians to locate the center of gravity of the vehicle and said removable box (001) can be used as a base for the driver’s seat. The removable battery box (001) also comprises of anti-theft mechanism and anti-theft provision with this arrangement i.e. open the seat frame (002) and then only battery box (001) is able to access and open the mounting bolt.
[029] In one of the embodiment, as shown in Figure 3, a locking (004) means is provided to the battery (001), which is an essential component of the removable battery box (001), serving to safeguard the battery pack (003) against unauthorized removal or tampering. It plays a crucial role in ensuring the safety and security of the battery pack (003) and provide protection to the battery from potential damage or theft. This lock (004) utilizes physical keys or levers to engage with a locking (004) means by a tab or a latch, thus securing the battery pack (003) within the box (001). They offer a simple and reliable solution for securing the battery pack (003).
[030] Additionally, the seat frame with seat are locked from top of the box, locking mechanism (009). Unless you unlock the seat frame battery box mounting bolts will not be accessible.

[031] The air ventilation unit (007) is used to prevent explosion of the battery pack, since batteries get heated while charging as well as in discharging condition. Therefore to reduce the risk of explosion or failure air ventilation unit (007) in provided in battery box (001). The air ventilation unit (007) is configured to the battery box (001) to ensure diffusion of the gases generated from the battery by preventing the accumulation of an explosive mixture inside the battery pack. The lowers are provided on battery box which allows air to enter in battery box during vehicle running and cools the battery.
[032] The plurality of fasteners is designed to be easily released, allowing for the quick and easy removal of battery box (001) from the device. The battery box (001) may also include one or more handles that make it easy to carry the battery box (001). The handles may be attached to the housing or to a separate carrying strap.
[033] The removable battery box (001) provides easy access of battery pack (003) without removing the entire battery pack (003) from its location, this helps to reduce downtime by making it easy to swap out batteries when they run out of power.

[034] The removable battery box (001) can be prepared from plastic, metal or composite materials to provide a long lifespan to a battery pack (003). It comprises a locking (004) means, air ventilation unit (007), hinged cap etc.

[035] The removable battery box (001) of the present invention offers the following advantages:
• The battery box can be easily removed from the device allowing for quick and easy access to the batteries.
• The removable battery box (001) offers a quick and easy replacement of the battery with a new battery whenever needed.
• The removable battery box (001) protects the battery from external damages and battery can be easily inspected to prevent battery failure.
• Accessibility: The battery can be repaired without removing it from the vehicle because of better accessibility of the battery because of battery openable cap (002).
• The removable battery box (001) can be customized to meet the specific requirement of a particular application. It provides a convenient and cost effective solution for servicing batteries. The battery box (001) is easy to remove and install.
[036] While this invention has been described in connection with what is presently considered to be the most practical and preferred embodiment, it is to be understood that the invention is not limited to the disclosed embodiments, but, on the contrary, is intended to cover various modifications and equivalent arrangements included within the scope of the appended claims.
,CLAIMS:WE CLAIM:
1. A removable battery box (001) of an electric vehicle comprising:
• a battery pack (003) placed inside the battery box (001), comprising a plurality of batteries mounted beneath the driver’s seat (006);
• a removable battery openable cap (002) and arranged on top of the battery box (001);
• a locking (004) means attached to the removable battery box (001) with a plurality of keys or levers to safeguard the battery pack (003) against unauthorized removal or tampering;
• an air ventilation unit (007) fixed to the battery box (001);
• a plurality of fasteners (008) to attach the removable battery box (001) for the quick and easy removal of battery box (001) from the device.
• a modified hood frame attached to the removable battery box for acting as load taking member of driver back rest and support the battery box mounting and canopy.

2. The removable battery box (001) as claimed in claim 1, wherein the battery box (001) comprises of one or more handles to easily carry the battery box (001) over long distances.

3. The removable battery box (001) as claimed in claim 2, wherein the handles are attached to a housing, a strap, and the like.

4. The removable battery box (001) as claimed in claim 1, wherein the battery box is made up of material selected from a group of plastic, metal, composite materials, and the like.

5. The removable battery box (001) of an electric vehicle as claimed in claim 1 wherein the electric vehicle is a three-wheeler electric vehicle, electric rickshaw, electric auto-rickshaw, e-rickshaw, electric tricycle, and the like.
