Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to a method and system for optimizing fuel consumption rate in a blast furnace. The method comprises generating a digital twin of a blast furnace Further, identifying a reference batch the burden whose temperature is within a reference temperature range. Furthermore, obtaining one or more input variables corresponding to the identified batch and at least one other batch from the plurality of batches, where the one or more input variables impact the fuel consumption rate of the blast furnace. Furthermore, obtaining at least one operating parameter corresponding to the identified batch and at least one operating parameter corresponding to the at least one other batch. Thereafter, correlating one or more input variables and the at least one operating parameter of the at least one other batch with the one or more input variables of the identified batch. [FIG. 3]
