Abstract: The present disclosure relates to system and method of estimation of slag composition and slag properties in a ladle furnace station (118) during steel refining. The method comprises determining a BOF slag composition (217), based on one or more first input parameters, using a trained first neural network model (108). Further, the method comprises predicting a LF-in slag composition, based on one or more second input parameters and the BOF slag composition determined as output from the trained first neural network model (108), using a trained first principle based model (110). Further, the method comprises determining the slag properties at a high temperature, based on one or more third input parameters, using a trained second neural network model (112). The present disclosure may be configured to provide high grade quality steel by providing better inclusion absorption and good Sulphur reduction.
