High Strength Steel Grade With Excellent Combination Of Strength, Ductility, Stretch Flangeabilty And Fatigue Properties For Manufacturing Of Automobile Components

Abstract: TITLE: “A HIGH-STRENGTH HOT-ROLLED STEEL SHEET AND A METHOD OF MANUFACTURING THEREOF” ABSTRACT The present disclosure discloses a method for producing high strength hot rolled steel sheet for high stretch-flangeability property. The method starts with casting a steel slab of desired composition, and then heating the steel slab at first predetermined temperature for a predetermined time. Then the steel slab is subjected to hot working at a second predetermined temperature to produce a steel sheet. After hot working, the steel sheet is cooled to a third predetermined temperature at a predetermined cooling rate. Then the cooled steel is subjected to coiling at a third predetermined temperature to obtain the high strength hot rolled steel sheet. The steel manufactured by this method comprises bainitic ferrite microstructure of 10 – 50 vol.% and balance being polygonal ferrite microstructure and exhibits ultimate tensile strength (UTS) ranging from 540 MPa to 700 MPa and hole expansion ratio (HER) greater than 100%.
