Abstract: TITLE: “A METHOD FOR POST-CARBONIZATION ADDITION OF ADDITIVE FOR COATING NUT COKE” ABSTRACT The present disclosure a method for post-carbonization addition of additive for coating nut coke to suppress reactivity in a metallurgical furnace. The method includes spraying a first predetermined quantity of fluid onto the nut coke to moisturize the nut coke. Further, sprinkling a second predetermined quantity of an additive powder onto the moisturized nut coke to form a coated nut coke. The coated nut coke thus formed has coke strength after reaction (CSR) ranging between 62 to 65 and coke reaction index (CRI) ranging between 26.5 to 27.5. The coated nut coke results in lower reactivity and favourable coke porosity. Thus, reduces the coke rate when the coated nut coke is subjected to the metallurgical furnace.
