Abstract: “A METHOD FOR REDUCTION OF MANGANESE ORE AND APPLICATION THEREOF” ABSTRACT The present disclosure provides a method for the efficient reduction of Manganese ore, wherein said reduction is performed in presence of Sulphur in an inert atmosphere to partially or completely convert Manganese dioxide in the ore to Manganese monoxide. Further provided herein is a method for production of Ferromanganese comprising subjecting the reduced Manganese ore to smelting to obtain the Ferromanganese. The aforesaid processes of the present disclosure are energy efficient and sustainable.
