A Continuous Slab Casting Assembly For Casting Molten Metal

Abstract: A continuous slab casting assembly (100) for casting molten metal is disclosed. The assembly (100) includes a housing (1) with a support structure (2). A pair of guide brackets (3) is coupled to the support structure (2) and includes a first guide bracket (4) with a first body (4b). A second guide bracket (5) is coupled to the support structure (2) and includes a second body (5b) with second cavities (5a) and a protrusion (6). The at least one protrusion (6) is defined with at least one third cavity (6a). A bender (7) is supported by the support structure (2) and is defined with top pins (8) and bottom pins (9). The bottom pins (9) are positioned in the gap between first guide bracket (4) and the second guide bracket (5). The guide bracket (3) takes up the loads exerted by the flow of molten slab from the bender (7).
