Method For Treatment Of Wastewater
Abstract: “METHOD FOR TREATMENT OF WASTEWATER” ABSTRACT The present disclosure provides a multi-step method for the treatment of effluent or wastewater from sources such as coke plants to facilitate removal of cyanide and/or colour from the wastewater. More particularly, the present disclosure provides a method for treatment of wastewater, comprising two steps, the first step being subjecting the wastewater to UV radiation in an acidic environment; and the second step being treating the UV irradiated wastewater with an adsorbent. The combination of the two steps characterizing the method of the present disclosure ensures efficient reduction of the total cyanide content of wastewater and/or removal of colour from the wastewater.
