A Casing For A Lithium Ion Pouch Cell And A Method Of Manufacturing Thereof

Abstract: ABSTRACT TITLE: “A CASING FOR A LITHIUM-ION POUCH CELL AND A METHOD OF MANUFACTURING THEREOF” Present disclosure discloses a casing/laminate (100) for a lithium-ion pouch cell (110). The 5 casing includes a first layer (101) defined with a first surface (104a) and a second surface (104b). The first layer is manufactured of interstitial free steel. Further, the casing includes a second layer (102) bonded to the first surface of the first layer. The second layer is manufactured of a first polymer. Furthermore, the casing includes a third layer (103) bonded to the second surface of the first layer. The third layer is manufactured of a second polymer. 10 The casing of the present disclosure increases retention against expansion, delamination, safety and compressive force holding capacity. Further, the casings mitigates swelling of the lithium-ion pouch cell. Figure 1 is a representative figure.
