A System For Detecting Defects In A Tie Rod Of A Coke Oven

Abstract: TITLE: “A SYSTEM FOR DETECTING DEFECTS IN A TIE ROD OF A COKE OVEN” ABSTRACT A system (100) for detecting defects in a tie rod (1) of a coke oven (200) is disclosed. The system (100) includes a transmitter (2) positioned at a first end (1a) of the tie rod (1) 5 transmitting an electromagnetic pulse through the tie rod (1). A receiver (3) is positioned at a second end (1b) of the of tie rod (1) to receiver (3) a magnetic flux. A control unit (4) is coupled to the transmitter (2) and the receiver (3). The control unit (4) transmits the electromagnetic pulse from the first end (1a) of the tie rod (1). The receiver (3) determines the magnetic flux at the second end (1b) of the tie rod (1) and determines the variation between the magnetic flux 10 at the second end (1b) of the tie rod (1) and a predefined threshold magnetic flux to estimate the defect in the tie rod (1).
