Mac Layer, Phy Aware (Mlpa), Outer Coding Scheme For Reliable, Low Latency Communication In 5 G Advanced And Beyond Setting

Abstract: MAC-LAYER, PHY-AWARE (MLPA), OUTER-CODING SCHEME FOR RELIABLE, LOW-LATENCY COMMUNICATION IN 5G ADVANCED AND BEYOND SETTING ABSTRACT The present disclosure relates to a method for packet-level Forward Error Correction (FEC) encoding in a communication system where there are L distinct datalink paths P1,P2 through PL between a transmitter and a receiver. The method comprises of receiving a Radio Link Control (RLC) Protocol Data Unit (RLC PDU) of K bytes; generating a message Transport Block (TB) by appending a header of H bytes to the RLC PDU; setting a TB Cyclic Redundancy Check (TB-CRC) Protocol Parameter- TBPP flag as 1 or setting the TBPP flag as 0; determining number of message LDPC code blocks over which the message TB is to be distributed as being equal to m, using a fixed, pre-determined procedure; generating using a packet-level FEC code, m message sub-packets and (L-1) m parity sub-packets from the message TB; partitioning the (L-1)m parity sub-packets into (L-1) sets Ul , l = 2,··· ,L each containing a set of m parity sub-packets; transmitting set Ul of m subpackets to a PHY-l layer of the transmitter for 1 = l = L; and generating a set Vl of m LDPC code blocks associated to the set Ul of m sub-packets for 1 = l = L. The present disclosure also describes a method for packet-level FEC decoding when TBPP flag is 1 or when TBPP flag is 0. The present disclosure relates to a transmitter for performing a method for packet-level FEC encoding and a receiver for performing a method for packet-level FEC decoding. FIG. 1
