A Modified Binder, A Dry Electrode And Processes Thereof

Abstract: ABSTRACT A MODIFIED BINDER, A DRY ELECTRODE AND PROCESSES THEREOF The present disclosure provides a modified binder of Formula I, wherein X is selected from F, Cl, Br, or I; n is in a range of 160 to 190; and the modified binder has a molecular weight in a range of 50 to 200kDa, and a polydispersity index in a 5 range of 1 to 1.2. The present disclosure further provides a process for preparing the modified binder as disclosed herein, the process comprising: a) coupling a fluoroethylene and vinyl ether to obtain a first intermediate; b) adding a chain transfer agent to the first intermediate to obtain a second intermediate; and c) processing the second intermediate to obtain the modified binder. Furthermore, the 10 present disclosure provides a method of preparing the dry electrode as disclosed herein, and an electrochemical cell comprising the dry electrode as disclosed herein.
