Abstract: ABSTRACT The present invention relates to a method of improvement in the scissors, so as to provide a pair of completely safe scissors, and is primarily intended to prevent injuries from the scissors. Accordingly, it is an object of the present invention to provide an improved method, which is capable of addressing and overcoming the risk associated with the use of conventionally made scissors. Yet the principal object of the present invention is to provide a method of covering the blades of the scissors by a transparent, lightweight, easily moldable and scratch as well as high impact resistant material, so as to prevent injuries from the same. Fig 1 illustrates a cover made up of molded plastic material preferably, Polycarbonate or other thermoplastic materials, meant for covering the blades of the scissors. Fig 3 illustrates pair of scissors covered with a cover.
1. A method for making completely safe scissors, wherein the improvement comprises: grooves at external aspects of the pivot of both the shafts of scissors; span limiting hooks for the handles; and a cover having flanges meant to attach to grooves of both the shafts at the pivot of scissors.
Description:A METHOD FOR MAKING COMPLETELY SAFE SCISSORS
FIELD OF INVENTION
[0001] The present invention relates to a method of improvement in the scissors, so as
to provide a pair of completely safe scissors, and is primarily intended to prevent
injuries from the scissors.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
[0002] Scissors injury is a very common health concern. Not only children, but adults
also get injured by scissors, when not careful. To prevent such health concern, there is
requirement of completely safe scissors. The present invention is concerned with a
method of improvement in the scissors, those are used for stationary works,
handicrafts as well as cutting clothes, and thereby, make it's use, completely safe.
Moreover, the cutting blades are responsible for both penetrating as well as blunt
trauma. More often face and eyes are primarily involved in such incidents. The
mechanism involved in cutting by scissors essentially depends on the length of the
blades which determines the depth of cutting. The opening span of blades determines
the length of cutting. For the routine uses of scissors, for example, stationary works,
handicrafts as well as cutting clothes, the maximum thickness of the bunch of papers,
fabric, cardboard or similar things that can comfortably be cut, is within 2 mm to 3 mm,
(i.e. 20 -30 papers, each having thickness of 100 micron) by any handheld scissors. The
present invention utilizes this fact and accordingly proposes a technique for
improvement in the scissors, to make it convenient as well as completely safe to use. , C , C , C , Claims:I Claim :
