Specification

Description:Preamble to the Description
The following specification particularly describes the invention and the manner in which it is to be performed:

DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION:
Technical field of the invention
[0001] The present invention relates to battery mounting provision provided on the down tube of the main frame.
Background of the invention
[0002] Battery failure is by far the most common issue when it comes to mobility scooter troubleshooting. Most scooter users do not really consider the battery, but if this component does not work properly, nothing else will.
[0003] Mounting batteries on the floorboard of an electric scooter is a common practice, as it provides a central and easily accessible location for the battery pack. However, it's important to ensure proper mounting and secure attachment to minimize any potential risks or issues.
[0004] The battery pack should be securely fastened to the scooter's floorboard to prevent movement or displacement during normal operation or when encountering vibrations or bumps. The battery pack should be adequately protected from external elements such as water, dust, or impact.
[0005] It's essential to ensure proper insulation and protection for the battery pack to prevent any electrical shorts or contact with metal parts of the scooter. Insulating materials, such as foam padding or rubber grommets, can help create a buffer between the battery and the scooter's frame.
[0006] Weight distribution of the scooter when mounting the battery on the floorboard is an important factor hence placing of battery may impart significant amount of weight on the front or rear of the scooter and may affect its balance and handling characteristics.
[0007] Mounting the battery directly on the main frame of an electric scooter is another common approach. This type of mounting can offer stability, security, and efficient use of space. The battery should be securely fastened to the main frame of the scooter using appropriate mounting brackets or clamps. The attachment mechanism should be strong enough to withstand vibrations and impacts that may occur during normal use.
[0008] Lithium-ion batteries, commonly used in electric scooters, generate heat during operation. Mounting the battery directly on the main frame can help dissipate heat more effectively as the frame acts as a heat sink. However, it has to be noted that the frame does not become excessively hot and that there is proper ventilation around the battery to prevent overheating.
[0009] Vibration can potentially have an impact on electric scooter batteries, although the severity of the impact depends on various factors such as the quality of the battery, its design, and the extent of the vibrations.
[0010] Vibrations can potentially cause mechanical stress on the battery pack, which may result in loosening of connections, damaged cells, or compromised insulation. This can lead to reduced battery performance, capacity, or even failure.
[0011] Proper mounting and cushioning of the battery pack within the scooter can help mitigate the effects of vibrations. Securely fastening the battery and using shock-absorbing materials or padding can help reduce the impact of vibrations.
[0012] Periodically inspecting the battery pack for any signs of damage, loose connections, or abnormalities is important, the riding conditions and terrain can significantly impact the vibrations experienced by the electric scooter. Rough roads, uneven surfaces, or excessive jolts can subject the battery to more intense vibrations, potentially affecting its longevity.

A latch mounting stay (25), and locking flanges (28) interposed between the support bracket (26) and the fixing flange (25c) on both sides of the battery box (14) 27a, 28a) are provided in a protruding manner, and the support bracket (26) and the fixing flange (25c) are inserted via the collar (34) in a state in which the locking flange (27a, 28a) is sandwiched therebetween. They are characterized in that they are mutually fixed,

[0015] Reference can be made to JP5879173B2 which discloses about a plurality of battery cells having electrodes at their ends are bundled and mounted on a vehicle. In the battery pack for an electric vehicle, the battery supporting frame that connects and supports the ends of the plurality of battery cells exposes and bundles the parts other than the ends of the battery cells. unit. Since the portions other than the end portions of the battery cells are exposed and bundled, cooling air can be sufficiently guided to the entire circumference of the battery cells, and sufficient cooling performance and heat radiation performance can be obtained.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED
[0018] In the above mentioned prior arts, battery pack is not directly attached to the battery frame which involves increased number of linkages and the number of parts which increases the overall cost and also the weight of the vehicle which eventually affects its mileage as well.

OBJECT OF INVENTION
[0019] Main object of the invention is to reduce vibration transfer for the battery pack from the frame.
[0020] Another object of the present invention is to provide enhanced load transfer from the battery pack to the frame.
[0021] Another object of the present invention is to save the cells of the battery pack from getting damaged.
[0022] Yet another object of the present invention is to prevent rattling of the battery pack during the ride condition.

GENERAL STATEMENT OF INVENTION
[0023] A scooter type electrically powered vehicle of the present invention includes a down frame portion extending downward and rearward along a vehicle longitudinal direction from a head pipe and a down frame portion extending from the lower end of the down frame portion toward the rear in the vehicle longitudinal direction, wherein the down frame consists of an integrated mounting provisions for the battery pack.
