Description:BATTERY COVER FOR A VEHICLE
TECHNICAL FIELD
[0001] The present subject matter generally relates to a vehicle, and more particularly, relates to a battery cover for a vehicle having one or more batteries.
5
BACKGROUND
[0002] In conventional vehicles having one or more batteries, a battery cover being present to cover the one or more batteries from top. Thus, only topmost part of one or more batteries are covered with the battery cover being located on the top of the battery. This can result into several drawbacks such as 10 the one or more batteries are exposed to environment from its sides which can further results in entering of water, mud, dirt, and dust into one or more batteries from sides which are exposed to the environment. The entry of water, mud, dirt, and dust can lead to reducing the efficiency of one or more batteries which further deteriorate the life of the one or more batteries and the vehicle as well 15 which adds to frequent servicing and increased maintenance requirements. Exposed one or more batteries and naked wire routings which are visible from external environment pose a threat to the rider and users as entry of water to exposed one or more batteries and wire routings can also lead to electric shock and may result in unwanted events such as battery explosion in severe cases 20 which can cause accidents and injuries along with heavy casualties as well. Additionally, top cover makes the one or more batteries vulnerable to theft as it is extremely easy to pull out the one or more batteries from the sides which are exposed to the environment making it prone to stealing. Also, no side covers give a perception that the one or more batteries are weak, and no protection has 25 been provided to such naked one or more batteries. Additionally, considering the weight of the one or more batteries, top covers provides a disadvantage in swapping and changing of one or more batteries as the entire seat assembly has to be removed and then top cover is being opened to pull out the one or more batteries from above and then change or swapping of one or more batteries is 30
3
done which causes removal of goods required to open the top battery cover if it is a cargo vehicle which can lead to increased time in battery swapping. Another problem with the conventional vehicles is that the locking mechanism for the top cover of the one or more batteries poses a risk of entry of water, mud, dirt, and dust.
5 [0003] Thus, a battery cover which can cover the one or more batteries to prevent the entry of water, mud, dirt, and dust is desired. It is also desired to have a battery cover which can provide theft free feature and a robust coverage for the one or more batteries of the vehicle. It is desired to have a battery cover which provides easy swapping or changing of battery without disturbing or
10 unloading of goods to change the one or more batteries. Therefore, it is desired to have an easy battery swapping in vehicle loaded condition as well. It is also desired to have a battery cover which looks strong and aesthetically appealing. Thus, a battery cover which can overcome above mentioned disadvantages is desired and required. 15
