Specification

Description:TECHNICAL FIELD
[001] The present subject matter relates to a mounting assembly, more particularly, a design of a mounting bracket in the mounting assembly.
BACKGROUND
[002] In general, a vehicle comprising a plurality of vehicle components. 5 However, disposition of plurality of vehicle components has certain constraints due to space constraint and balancing of the weight and centre of gravity of the vehicle due to disposition of plurality of vehicle components.
[003] In conventional compact vehicles, a boot space/ storage space is comparatively lower and needs to be managed efficiently for maximum utilisation 10 of the storage space. Further, in relatively compact vehicles such as but not limited to 3-wheeled vehicles, and transport vehicles, the storage capacity is one of the most important factors for a user of the vehicle. Further, 3-wheeled and transport vehicles additionally require packaging efficiency for disposition of power unit, prime mover, steering assembly, transmission assembly, etc. in the vehicle. Hence, the storage 15 capacity and configuration of the vehicle is a very important factor for deciding the vehicle handling capacity of the vehicle.
[004] Conventional vehicles use pre-existing storage space of the vehicle to store certain components of the vehicle such as spare wheels, toolbox, etc. in the storage space of the vehicle due to which, the storage capacity of the vehicle is unnecessarily 20 occupied by these components. The boot space or the designated pre-existing storage space is important for the user of the vehicle, and this space cannot be effectively utilised if the space intended for storage of luggage of the user is occupied by the loads such as spare wheel, toolbox, etc. An inherent inconvenience of occupation of the storage space for disposing loads such as spare wheel, toolbox, etc., is present 25 which further disrupts the packaging efficiency in the vehicle. Further, the disposition of plurality of vehicle components such as spare wheel, tool box, etc is cramped up with loaded luggage in the designated storage space of existing vehicles, and this in turn creates an inconvenience and discomfort in accessibility of the spare wheel, tool kit, etc. 30
3
[005] In general, in order to accommodate the above mentioned plurality of vehicle components, the spare wheel, the toolbox and also including a vehicle control unit utilizes multiple mounting brackets. Further, for efficient utilization of the space in the vehicle, the multiple mounting brackets are disposed at multiple locations of the vehicle layout. This in turn increases the overall part count and 5 weight of the vehicle due to the use of multiple mounting brackets.
[006] In some conventional vehicle layout, the spare wheel or toolbox is placed horizontally on the surface of the base of the vehicle where a bracket is connected to the base of the vehicle which securely mounts the wheel. This bracket is an additional component that occupies a certain amount of space along with the load 10 such as a spare wheel or toolbox which is undesirable.
[007] In some other conventional vehicles, the space below the passenger seat is used for the disposition of spare wheel, toolbox, etc., due to which the seating of the passenger becomes uncomfortable and is hence again undesirable. Additionally, the disposition of the spare wheel and other loads on the vehicle body results in improper 15 weight distribution since the weight of the loads is transferred on the vehicle body and not on the frame directly. Another attempt for a solution was to attach the components to the back panel of the vehicle, or the boot lid of the vehicle which makes the components prone to theft.
[008] Additionally, the plurality of mounting brackets being disposed in plurality 20 of locations in the vehicle. The plurality of locations are disposed in the entire vehicle layout and each of the plurality of mounting brackets needs to be installed based on tensile strength and structural rigidity of a frame assembly of the vehicle. Thus, the entire assembly of the plurality of mounting brackets becomes complex and also assembly time of the vehicle further increases. 25
[009] Furthermore, the plurality of mounting brackets needs to be accessed individually for serviceability and maintenance of the vehicle components mounted on the plurality of mounting brackets. This increases the overall disassembly time and also increases the number of tools being used for disassembly of each vehicle component from the plurality of mounting brackets. 30
4
[010] Furthermore, in conventional vehicles, the plurality of mounting brackets are disposed in certain locations of the vehicle layout which are inaccessible to a user and also to a service technician. For example, a vehicle control unit is disposed in the frame assembly through the plurality of mounting brackets and the vehicle control unit is covered by a body cover assembly of the vehicle. Thus, accessibility 5 and serviceability of the vehicle control unit becomes difficult due to disassembly of the body cover assembly individually. This configuration not only increases the overall service time, but also increases complexity of serviceability of the vehicle control unit.
[011] In a known art, separate plurality of mounting brackets are provided on the 10 frame assembly of the vehicle. Further additional mounting brackets are provided to receive the vehicle components. Thereafter, the plurality of mounting brackets of the frame assembly and the additional mounting brackets of the vehicle components are aligned and abutted together for assembly of the vehicle components in the vehicle. This configuration not only increases the part count and overall weight of the 15 vehicle, but also increases complexity of assembly and disassembly of the vehicle components in the vehicle.
[012] Additionally, the usage of plurality of mounting brackets also increases the risk of misalignment of the plurality of mounting brackets at different locations of the vehicle. Further, the plurality of mounting brackets are often subjected to vehicle 20 vibrations and misaligned mounting brackets are at a greater risk of getting loosened over a period of time.
[013] Furthermore, an improperly assembled plurality of mounting brackets may also result in safety concerns. For example, if the plurality of mounting brackets are not fastened and abutted correctly, then it may lead to unexpected malfunctions or 25 failures during operation of the vehicle, which may cause accidents during running condition of the vehicle.
[014] Hence, it is preferred to have a mounting bracket which is configured to receive one or more vehicle mounting components and also provides of ease of accessibility and replaceability of the mounting brackets and the one or more 30 mounting components disposed on the mounting bracket.
5
