Description:A SIDE COVER ASSEMBLY FOR A VEHICLE
TECHNICAL FIELD
[0001] The present subject matter generally relates to a side cover assembly for a vehicle and specifically, but not exclusively, to a side cover assembly for a vehicle that receives an illumination source .
BACKGROUND
5
[0002] With the advancement in safety features in vehicles, illuminating sources such as turn signal lamps have become necessity to make public aware if a rider is about to change a lane or take a turn. However, the positioning of the illuminating sources is an important factor to provide safety and security to rider and the public. In conventional vehicles, the illuminating 10 sources, specifically turn signal lamps are present on left and right side of the vehicle. More specifically, the turn signal lamps in conventional vehicles have been placed directly on a large side cover panel. Further, the turn signal lamps are placed distantly from a headlamp region. Conventional location of turn signal lamps cause problems such as easy damage and breaking of the 15 turn signal lamps if the vehicle falls in either direction. Another disadvantage of the conventional locations is difficulty in visibility of the turn signal lamps from other rider’s perspective.
[0003] Furthermore, the turn signal lamps placed on large side cover panels which results in various other problems. For example, if the vehicle falls in 20 either direction, the large side cover panel gets damaged and cause a high replacement cost to customers. Another disadvantage can be difficulty in manufacturability and assembly. For example, if the vehicle falls in either direction and damages the turn signal lamps which is directly fixed on large side cover panels, then the entire large side cover panels along with the turn 25 signal lamps needs to be repaired or replaced. Thus, causing humongous cost to the customers and pose difficulty in assembly and manufacturability of entire side cover assembly as the entire side cover assembly comprising the large side cover panel and the turn signal lamps have to be manufactured and

3
assembled in the vehicle which is a time-consuming process for manufacturers and service providers. Thus, causing low production yield and incur losses to the manufacturers. Further, the front cover panel has to be removed to replace the large side cover panels. Additionally, frequent repairs of turn signal lamps and large side cover panels have an adverse effect on the 5 life of the vehicle as the vehicle has to undergo frequent replacements of the entire side cover assembly even if any part of the large side cover panel or turn signal lamps gets damaged. Thus, having a turn signal lamp located closer to ground and fixed on the large side cover panel causes various problems such as easy damage and breaking of the turn signal lamps while 10 the vehicle is falling in either direction. Another problem is the large side cover panel is expensive and difficult to manufacture, assemble and repair. [0004]
Therefore, there is a need to develop a robust side cover assembly for a vehicle which can overcome the aforementioned problems in the art.
[0005] Further limitations and disadvantages of conventional and traditional 15 approaches will become apparent to one of skill in the art, through comparison of described locations and configurations with some aspects of the present disclosure, as set forth in the remainder of the present application and with reference to the drawings.
