System For Tire Trimming And Inspection
Abstract: A system for tire trimming and inspection, comprises, a first conveyor (101) onto which a cured tire is positioned; a tilting unit (104) tilts the tire; a gantry picks up the tilted tire; a trimming station (106) to trim the tire flash of the tire; a buffer unit (108) ; an inspection station to visually inspect the trimmed tire conveyed by means of the gantry for any visible defect, and scan the bar code embedded on sidewall of the tire to appropriately update the inspection report of the tire; a second conveyor (109) for conveying out the trimmed and inspected tire, and a control unit to control the gantry, estimate the center of the tire, compare the measured outer diameter and weight of the tire with the pre-stored value for the specific tire size to determine the tire is of acceptable or un-acceptable quality.
